Displaying Your Account Information
Log In
Before you can receive your Card balances and due dates, you must log in. It's just like on the Web site, and just as secure.
When you first run the Account Widget, and anytime after logging out (automatically or manually), you will see the log in screen in the Account Information part of the Account Widget. Enter your user ID and password and click the "Log In" button.

If your user ID or password does not authenticate, you will be asked to try again. Please note: as a security measure, after three successive failed attempts, the application will provide a link to obtain a new password at americanexpress.com.
Your Account Information
After a successful login, you will automatically see your existing Cards in the Account Widget, along with your total Membership Rewards points.

User ID
Your user ID appears here after logging in.
Log Out Now
You can click this button to automatically log out of the Account Widget and return to the Log In screen.
Minimize
Clicking this button "rolls up" the account information section of the Account Widget.
Cards
Each Card has an associated Card icon to indicate the type of Card. Only 3 can be seen at one time---so if you have more, scroll up and down using a scroll bar.
Each Card has a Card name, the outstanding balance, and, when applicable, the amount due and when.
Clicking on a Card takes you to the American Express Web site, where you can log in to manage your Cards.
TipWhen you look at your detailed card information online, you will see the statement balance also referred to as the previous balance.
Membership Rewards
This is your Membership Rewards points balance. If you have more than one Membership Rewards number, the Account Widget shows only one. If you move the mouse over the number, a tooltip will appear showing the balance for all your Membership Rewards numbers.
Log Out
It's easy to log out of the Account Widget. Just click on the "Log Out" button that appears above your Cards.
Also, the Account Widget will log you out automatically when:
- A certain amount of time has passed (adjustable in the Preferences window)
- You exit the Account Widget
- The server is undergoing maintenance (usually Thursday 5:00 PM - 7:00 PM MST)
- The system clock is 5:00 AM MST
- You click the connect/disconnect icon on the toolbar
