Download & Install

Step #1: Download the Account Widget

https://www.americanexpress.com/amexlabs/downloads/AccountWidget_Install-13.zip .

Unzip the file you downloaded using Windows XP, or any other Zip Format utility program. Choose Run to install immediately, or Save to save the installer to disk or drive. If you choose Save, then after the download completes, launch the fie AccountWidget.exe.

Step #2: Install the Account Widget

When you launch the installer from within IE and if you are running Windows XP Service Pack 2, you will see a security warning that says "Publisher: American Express Company"

Click the Run button.

You will next see the first screen of the installer

If you review you accept the license agreement, click the checkbox next to I Accept this License (the Account Widget will not install if you do not accept the agreement).

Tips

To install the Account Widget in a custom directory, simply change the path.

 

Click the Continue button.

Next you will see the second screen of the installer that gives you a chance to set some default options.

Tip

You can modify the preference later in the General tab of the Preferences window.

 

Click the Install American Express Widget button.

You'll see the third screen of the installer showing the installation progress.

After the installer has finished, click the Start American Express Widget button. If you are running Windows XP you may see one more security dialog.

To avoid this warning in the future, uncheck Always ask before opening this file. Click the Run button.

To ensure you have an authentic install file. Look for the Serence Inc. Digital Signature during installation. Also, please check for the American Express copyright in the Properties > Version Tab when right clicking the AccountWidget.exe file. This file should reside in the C:\Program Files\American Express Account Widget directory. By right clicking on this file, you can review these attributes.
