Who can apply?

  • Be over 18 years of age
  • You have a good credit history and no payment defaults
  • You are a permanent resident or citizen of Australia or hold current Business Long Stay Visa (Subclass 457)
  • You earn a personal gross (pre-tax) annual income of $40,000 or more
  • If self-employed, you have been trading for at least 18 months or 12 months if you hold an existing American Express issued Card

Applicants must be 18 years of age or over, reside in Australia and earn a minimum income of $40,000 per annum to apply for the American Express Velocity Gold Card. Offer only available to new American Express Velocity Cardmembers who apply via the online application form and are approved by 31 October 2012 and spend $500 in the first 3 months of American Express Velocity Card membership. Please allow 6-8 weeks after the $500 spend benchmark has been met for the 20,000 Velocity Points to be awarded to the Cardmember's Velocity Account.

All redemptions are Reward Class seats, subject to availability and to the Velocity Membership Terms & Conditions. Fares are correct as at 15 August 2011 and are subject to change. Additional baggage charges may apply and are payable in addition to Velocity Points redeemed. When booking by phone fares are $15 more. Seats are limited and may not be available at peak times or on all flights. Any pay component is not eligible for Points earn. 4. Virgin Australia lounge passes are subject to the American Express Velocity Gold Card Benefits Terms and Conditions available here. Two single entry passes to the Virgin Australia lounge will be activated on the Basic Cardmember's Velocity membership card annually on or after the anniversary of membership. The Virgin Australia lounge is operated by Virgin Australia Airlines Pty Ltd in selected domestic airports (in accordance with the Virgin Australia lounge Terms and Conditions, available at www.virginaustralia.com/lounge and as amended from time to time).

5. Supplementary Credit Card members must be over 18 years of age. You will be liable for all Supplementary Credit Card spending.
