Amex Bank of Canada formally adopted the Code of Conduct for the Credit and Debit Card Industry on May 14th, 2010. The Code of Conduct was designed to set a level playing field for all participants in the Canadian payments industry and to ensure full transparency and choice for Merchants – principles to which American Express lends its full support. American Express fully endorses the principles of fair business practices, transparency of fees, and Merchant and Consumer choice which is reflected in the Code of Conduct.
