Funds advances, finance charges, balance transfers, Amex cheques, annual fees, other fees, and charges for travelers cheques and foreign currencies are not purchases and do not qualify for reward miles. Earn rate of 1 reward mile per $10 in purchases is available at eligible sponsors that are American Express merchants.
