Do you already have a User ID and Password?

 
  • Yes. Enter your Online Services User ID and Password.
  • No. Click on the "Continue" button within the "No" box on the page if you have not registered online for a service.
  • Yes, but I want a separate User ID and Password to my existing User ID and Password. Click on the "I would like a separate User ID and Password" link if you would like to create a separate User ID and password (e.g. you have more than one personal Card account).

Create User ID and Password

 
Create a User ID and Password to setup access to Online Services. Then click 'Continue' so that you can log in to Online Services.

Follow the guidelines provided on the Create ID & Password page(s). If you are having difficulty, click here to refer to the FAQ section.

Forgot Your Password or want to change your Password?

 
Click on the "Forgot Your Password?" link on the Log In page and follow the directions to change your Password. If you are having difficulty click here to refer to the FAQ section.

This User Name and Password can be used to access Online Services.

What do I do if I'm having difficulty creating a User ID and Password?

 
Make sure you carefully follow the guidelines:
  1. Your user ID and Password cannot be the same.

  2. User IDs must:
    • be 5 to 20 characters in length
    • contain at least one letter
    • not contain spaces
    • not contain special characters such as (&>*!%)

      Examples of a valid password are: snowman4, 810main, and year2k.

  3. Passwords must:
    • be 6 to 8 characters in length
    • contain at least one letter and one number
    • not contain spaces
    • not contain special characters such as (&>*!%)

      Examples of a valid password are: snowman4, 810main, and year2k.

What do I do if I forgot my User ID, Security Validation Question, and/ or Security Validation Answer?

 
For Security purposes, American Express does not allow you to change your User ID or Security Questions and Answers online. Please call Customer Services at 1-877-325-AMEX (2639) for your Personal or Small Business Card. For your Corporate account call 1-800-716-6661.

Why would I want to create a separate User ID and Password?

 
If you would like to create a separate User Id and Password (to manage two personal Card accounts, for example), please click on "I would like to set up a separate User Id and password".

What do I do if the User ID I selected is already taken?

 
If the User ID you would like to use is already taken, create a different one by adding numbers to your User ID (e.g. Mark37). For ease, try using a memorable number.

What do I do if the server is not responding?

 
If you are experience delays or the site is unresponsive to your request, you can:
  • Try again by hitting the Back, Refresh or Reload buttons on your web browser
  • Come back later and try again

What do I do if online access to my account is temporarily suspended?

 
For your protection, online access to your account will be temporarily suspended if:
  • You entered the wrong User ID and/or Password multiple times
  • You entered the wrong Security Validation Question or the wrong Security Validation Answer multiple times

Is my confidential information secure?

 
Yes. American Express requires that a "secure session" be established before requesting or providing confidential information. This secure session is created using Secure Socket Layer (SSL). SSL allows for the private exchange of information using public key cryptography that only your computer and American Express systems can understand.
