Platinum Card Service

To help you get the most from your day, The Platinum Card Service is available around the clock to provide whatever assistance you need with just one call.

The Platinum Travel Service can make all your travel arrangements, including flight and hotel reservations, visa applications, and check your insurance coverage. Just let us know how we can help.

The Concierge Service

Besides travel, The Platinum Card Service takes pride in fulfilling a wide range of other tasks including:

  • Arranging the delivery of flowers, champagne, wine or other gifts.
  • Referrals to shops and suppliers of goods and services.
  • Recommending and making advance restaurant reservations worldwide.
  • Information and bookings on shows and events.
  • Help with locating lost property.
  • Weather, vaccine, consulates and embassies information on your next destination and visa requirements.
  • Referrals to arrange conference, business and translation services.

Local Medical Assistance

In the event of a medical emergency, you have the comfort of knowing that one of our doctors will be on the line to assist you. Our Local Medical Assistance provides 24-hours access to dedicated and caring doctors and nurses on the phone. You will be able to get general medical advice, or medical referrals to appropriate physicians, hospitals, clinics, dentists and dental clinics. The Platinum Card provides you the peace of mind you need.

Emergency Home Assistance

The Platinum Card Service offers help with emergencies at home,24 hours a day. We'll arrange and settle the first HK$1,000 of costs for each of the following:

  • Electrical Assistance to fix failure of the main switch.
  • Plumbing Assistance for clogged water supplies or water draining system, and leaking water pipes (excluding taps).
  • Locksmith assistance if you accidentally lock yourself out from your residence.
  • Repair of air conditioning units in the event of failure (excluding freezing agent or leakage).

Other services can be arranged by The Platinum Card Service but full costs will be payable by the Cardmember. If you have to vacate your home due to fire or flood. The Platinum Card Service will arrange and pay for hotel accommodation for you and your family at hotel room cost at maximum of HK$2,500 per night for up to 2 nights. Roadside Assistance

If your car breaks down, The Platinum Card Service will arrange the following roadside assistance:

  • Towing to your selected garage and cover for the first HK$750 of costs (excluding parts or accessories).
  • Arrange taxi and reimburse fares for you and any passengers to return home, if repairs can not be effected the same day.
  • Pay for you to return to collect your vehicle after repair.

Worldwide Service and Assistance

At over 2,200 American Express Travel Service and Representative Offices you can settle your account, cash a cheque or ask for local information from English speaking staff. If you encounter medical or legal problems overseas, assistance is only a phone call away. And in the event of your Platinum Card being lost, damaged or stolen, you'll receive a replacement, in most cases, by the end of the next working day, virtually anywhere in the world.

Worldwide Access to Express Cash

With Express Cash* service, you can withdraw cash at over 1,700 JETCO ATMs in Hong Kong, Macau, Guangzhou, Shenzhen and Zhuhai and over 2,000 Bank of China ATMs in China. Furthermore, there are over 500,000 locations worldwide where you can withdraw cash - so you should never be far from cash, wherever your travels take you.

* A nominal fee plus the withdrawal amount will be charged to your account for each transaction.

Year-End Summary of Charges

You'll automatically be sent a free Year-End Summary at the end of the first tax year. In subsequent years, this free service is optional. All charges made on your Platinum Card are divided into different spend categories and are separated for your own spending and the spending on each of your Supplementary Cards- making accounting easy.

No Worries Guarantee

Peace of mind for your purchases when you spend on The Platinum Card. As an American Express Platinum Card member you can rest assured in the knowledge that your purchases are covered by four types of protection.

Return Guarantee

If you are unhappy with a purchase made with The Platinum Card, bring it to us within 30 days of purchase and we will give you a refund.*

* The first HK$150 of the original purchase price of the item will not be paid. Refund is limited to HK$5,000 per item, HK$15,000 per Card account^ per year.

Extended Warranty

When you make a purchase with The Platinum Card, we will extend the original manufacturer's warranty (warranty period between 1 to 3 years), by up to one year. Once the original manufacturer's warrant expires, Extended Warranty protection takes effect. Each Platinum Card account^ is allowed a maximum of HK$150,000 worth of cover per policy year*. The warranty covers the cost of labor and parts used to repair any breakdown or malfunction covered by the terms of the original warranty.

* The maximum coverage is HK$40,000 per repair and the original price of the item must not exceed HK$40,000.

Price Protection

If, within 14 days of buying at full retail price, you see an identical item for purchase at a cheaper price as an alternative retail outlet in Hong Kong, we will refund you the difference. The maximum refund per item is HK$2,500. The maximum refund amount allowed per Card account^ per calendar year is HK$15,000*.

* The minimum difference covered is HK$150.

100 Days Cover

Almost anything you buy with The Platinum Card is insured against theft of accidental damage for up to 100 days after the date of purchase. Reimbursement is subject to a maximum of HK$400,000 per Platinum Card member per annum, with a maximum of HK$30,000 per claim and a HK$100 deductible.
