Do I earn Rewards Points on all my charges on the Card?
A.
American Express Platinum Card, American Express Platinum Reserve Credit Card, American Express Platinum Travel Credit Card and American Express Platinum Corporate Cards enrolled in the programme will accrue One Reward Point for every Rs. 40 charged on the Cardmembers Account, all other Cards would be accruing One Reward Point for every Rs. 50 charged for regular spending and One Reward Point for every Rs. 100 spent on purchases at telecommunications, insurance, fuel, and other utility services*.

• Telecommunications includes providers of land line phones, mobile phones, cable and other pay TV services, and calling cards.
• Fuel includes petrol, diesel, CNG from Oil Marketing Companies (OMCs).
• Other utility services includes providers of household/domestic electricity, gas and water. These providers can be government departments and agencies including local/state/municipal organizations, public housing societies and apartment associations.

How do I redeem or transfer my Points?
A.
You can now redeem/transfer your Membership Rewards online. Simply log-on to www.americanexpress.co.in/membershiprewards to access your account. If you are enrolled in the Frequent Traveller Option and have already registered your Frequent Flyer Number of one of our participating airlines with us or Frequent Hotel Guest Programme , you can also transfer your Membership Rewards Points to your Frequent Flyer Account or Frequent Hotel Guest Programme Account.

Can Supplementary Cardmembers redeem Points?
A.
Supplementary Cardmembers cannot redeem Points accumulated in the Programme Account.

Q.
Can I link other Cards to help me accumulate more Rewards Points?
A.
If you hold other American Express Cards that are eligible to earn Membership Rewards Points, these can be linked into one Membership Rewards Account. You also earn Rewards Points on all Supplementary Cards attached to your Card Account.

Q.
How do I transfer my Membership Rewards Points to my Frequent Flyer Programme Account or Frequent Hotel Guest Programme Account?
A.
In order to transfer your Membership Rewards Points to a participating Frequent Flyer Programme or Frequent Hotel Guest Programme , you first need to enroll into the Frequent Traveller Option and register your Frequent Flyer Number with us by calling our 24x7 Membership Services Helpline. You can then transfer your Membership Rewards Points to your Frequent Flyer Account online.

Does American Express automatically transfer Points to my Airline Partner or Frequent Guest Account?
A.
No. We will initiate transfer of your Points to your desired Airline Partner/Frequent Hotel Guest Account only when you call the 24x7 Membership Services Helpline or do a point transfer online.

Q.
Can I transfer Points into someone else's airline Partner or Frequent Guest Account?
A.
The Membership Rewards Programme allows you to transfer Points only to your own account with a participating Frequent Flyer Programme.

Q.
How long does it take to transfer Points into my participating Frequent Flyer Account?
A.
It usually takes 2-3 weeks for this process to be completed provided you are enrolled into the Frequent Traveller Option of Membership Rewards with us and your Frequent Flyer Programme number or Frequent Hotel Guest Programme Account Number is registered with us. Do allow enough time for the transfer to be completed while planning a holiday or other trip.

Can I switch my Points back to Membership Rewards once I have transferred them to my Frequent Flyer Account or Frequent Hotel Guest Programme Account?
A.
Once Points have been transferred to your Frequent Flyer Account of a participating Airline or Frequent Hotel Guest Programme Account, they cannot be converted back into Membership Rewards Points.

Q.
How long does it take to receive a Rewards Certificate/ Merchandise?
A.
You will receive your Rewards Certificate(s) usually within 7 working days and Merchandise within 21 working days from the time you call our 24x7 Membership Services Helpline and make the request or submit an online request.

Q.
For how long is my Rewards Certificate valid?
A.
Most Rewards Certificates are valid for three months from the date of issue. You’ll find the expiry date printed on the front of each certificate.

Q.
Can I switch between the Frequent Traveller Option and the Non Frequent Traveller Option?
A.
The Membership Rewards Programme allows you to switch your enrollment from the Non Frequent Traveller Option to the Frequent Traveller Option, or vice versa.

Q.
How do I keep track of my Points?
A.
The Membership Rewards Points status is available on your Monthly Card Statement displaying the number of Points you have accumulated as well as the Points you have redeemed or alternatively you can log on to www.americanexpress.co.in/membershiprewards to access your account and keep track of your Points.

Q.
Will my Membership Rewards Points expire?
A.
If you are enrolled in the Frequent Traveller Option, your Membership Rewards Points do not expire and you can accumulate Points from year to year. However, if you are enrolled in the Non Frequent Traveller Option, your Membership Rewards Points expire two years after the 12-month "enrollment period" in which they were earned.
If you are an American Express Platinum Travel Credit Cardmember, your Membership Rewards Points expire three years after the 12-month "enrollment period" in which they were earned.
