American Express How to pay your American Express Card
There are a number of ways to pay your American Express Card, choose the way that works best for you.
From 8 June 2007 the Late Payment Fee will be increased to $25 if the Minimum Payment is not received on or before the Minimum Payment Due Date shown on your Credit Card Statement. Click here for more information.
From 1 March 2007 the Monthly Minimum Payment will be calculated at the greater of $10 or 3% of the Closing Balance for all American Express Credit Card monthly Statement of Accounts.

Direct Debit

American Express Charge Card:
You can arrange to have your Card payments automatically deducted from your chosen bank account each month.
American Express Credit Card:
You can arrange to have the Minimum Amount Due or full balance of your Card Account automatically deducted from your chosen bank account each month.

Telephone or Internet Banking
You can arrange payment directly from your bank account to pay your Card Account, contact your bank to set up this facility.The bank will require your American Express details and reference to set up this procedure. It is important that this information is correct:

Pay in Person

Present your American Express Card Account statement together with cheque, cash* or EFTPOS at any New Zealand Post or Books & More outlets. *Cash payments to your Account are limited to NZ$7000 or the outstanding balance, whichever is the lesser.
Please note:
- Payments must be made in New Zealand dollars
- Payments must be accompanied by the payment advice
Detach the payment slip from the bottom of your American Express Card statement and send it accompanied by a cheque to:
American Express, PO Box 3616, Auckland 1001
Please note:
- Post dated cheques are not accepted.
- Remember to write your Card Account number on the back the cheque.
- The amount you are required to pay will be the Minimum Payment Due.
