What are Online Statements?

Online Statements are the paperless statement service from American Express Online Services. View your statements online and instead of a paper statement through the post, we will send you a monthly e-mail reminder as soon as your statement is ready to view. You will have access to a PDF version of your statement which you can print or save to your desktop - keeping for your records or Account enquiries.

How can I register for Online Statements?

First you must be registered for Online Services, the convenient and secure way to check and manage your Account online at any time, day or night. Log in or Register now for Online Services and select Online Statement Options. It's quick and simple to register for this service. All you need to do is select the American Express Card Account you wish to register, confirm that you have read and agree with the Terms and Conditions, confirm your e-mail address and select your preferred statement delivery.

Can I see an example of Online Statements before I register?

Yes, simply click here to preview a PDF version of your statement online. Once you register for Online Statements, you will also be able to save a PDF version of your statement.

Can I register all my cards for Online Statements?

You can register any Personal Charge Card, Personal Credit Card or Gold Small Business Card for this service. Eligible Card Accounts must first be registered for Online Services. Log in or Register now to add a Card Account. Online Statements are not available for other statement services provided by us, including Corporate Cards, Standard Small Business Cards and PGG Wrightsons Cards. We will continue to send paper statements, through the post, for these other statement services.

Please note that Line of Credit statements and Year End Summary of Charges are not available online and will continue to be mailed to you in the post.

Do I have to pay for this service?

No, this service is free of charge.

If I switch to online-only statements, when will I stop receiving paper statements?

You will stop receiving paper statements within 6 - 8 weeks.

Will my statement date change?

No, your statement date will not change and there is no need to wait for the post. We will send you a monthly e-mail reminder as soon as your statement is ready to view online.

Can I turn my paper statements back on?

You can nominate at any time to return to paper statements by logging into Online Services, clicking the 'Online Statements' link and selecting 'paper statements.' Your PDF statement remains available online and your paper statements will commence within 6-8 weeks.

How will I know when my statement is ready to view online?

We will send you a monthly e-mail reminder as soon as your statement is ready to view online. This should arrive the day after your statement period ends.

Who should I advise if I change my email address?

You may update your email address via the change details option when you are logged in to Online Services.

Are Online Statements a legal document and can I use them for verification purposes?

Yes. American Express Online Statements are identical to paper statements, and provide all the information required by law. You should use these Online Statements in the same way as paper statements. This includes verifying transactions listed on the statement to ensure that they are correct.

In the same manner as paper statements, please advise us if you have a problem with a transaction on your monthly statement, especially if you feel that you have not authorised the transaction or the transaction may be fraudulent.

Can I use a printed Online Statement to pay my Account?

Yes you can, however we encourage you to pay your Account using electronic means, such as Direct Debit, Telephone or Internet Banking. For more information, please refer to the back of your statement or refer to the How can I pay my Account section contained within our Customer Service FAQ pages.

Can I save my online statement?

Yes, you may choose to save a PDF version of your online statement to your desktop. When your statement opens in Adobe Reader, simply click the "Save" button on the toolbar, or click "Save" under the "File" menu and select the location you wish to save your statement.

Can I print my Online Statement?

Yes. When your statement opens in Adobe Reader, simply click the "Print" button on the toolbar, or click "Print" under the "File" menu.

How long are my statements available to view online?

Your current statement is available to view online, plus statements for up to the previous six months. Each monthly statement will remain on the internet for six months from the date on which it is made available.

Can I get copies of previous statements?

Your current statement is available to view online, plus statements for up to the previous six months. Paper copies for other statements can be requested by calling the Customer Service telephone number printed on the back of your card. Please note that a charge may apply for provision of paper copy statements.

I don't have Adobe Acrobat Reader, how can I save a PDF copy of my statement?

To install free Adobe Acrobat Reader software simply click here.

Can I view my Membership Rewards balance online?

Yes, you can view your current Membership Rewards points balance online. You can also redeem or transfer points for the reward of your choice.
