MEMBERSHIP REWARDS

You have so much choice when redeeming Membership Rewards points. Here is some important information to know when you are:

REDEEMING A RAPIDREWARD


Redeeming Points Online
Simply browse through the online rewards catalogue, select your reward and click ‘Redeem Now’. Your redemption will be processed through your online Card services Account.

Redeeming Points By Phone
Call the Rewards Hotline on 0800 44 22 08, Monday - Friday, 8am - 6pm. Simply quote the reward code of the RapidReward you would like to redeem and the consultant will redeem the reward for you.

Accommodation Rewards
Call the nominated hotel partner to make a reservation, advising you wish to use an American Express Membership Rewards certificate. Then redeem points online, or call the Rewards Hotline. Your Membership Rewards certificate will be mailed to you within 10 business days and should be presented at time of check-in.

'Points + Pay'
'Points + Pay' makes it easier for you to enjoy the rewards of Cardmembership sooner. You can redeem selected RapidRewards by redeeming the specified number of Membership Rewards points and paying the amount shown. 'Points and Pay' is not available for points transfers to airline and frequent guest partners. The 'Pay' component of a RapidReward redemption will be automatically billed to your American Express Card Account and will appear on the first billing statement following redemption. Membership Rewards points are not earned on the 'Pay' component of a 'Points + Pay' reward.

Points Top-Up
Rewards points can be purchased in multiples of 1,000 ($20 = 1,000 points, or for Platinum Card members $20 = 1,100pts). Points may only be purchased to assist in the redemption of a RapidReward, with a maximum of 15,000 points per redemption. The cost of these points will be billed directly to your Card Account and will appear on your statement immediately following your redemption. Membership Rewards points are not earned on points top-up purchases.

Important Information
  • Voucher/gift card rewards: either a voucher or a gift card will be mailed or couriered to your nominated address within 10 business days from date of redemption. Please refer to the voucher/gift card for the validity date.
  • All other rewards (e.g. accommodation, car rental rewards): a certificate explaining how to obtain your reward with the participating partner will be mailed to your nominated address within 10 business days. Certificates are valid for 3 months from the date of issue, unless otherwise indicated.
  • Only damaged or defective goods reported within 14 days of receipt will be accepted for exchange or return. Please call 0800 87 01 35 for instructions on the return process or to request a proof of purchase for warranty/guarantee purposes.
  • RapidRewards cannot be exchanged for cash.

Redeeming At Your Local Harvey World Travel
You can also book your holiday with Membership Rewards points by visiting your local Harvey World Travel store. To find out where your nearest Harvey World Travel store is located visit

Travel anytime no matter what your points balance
If you don’t have enough points for the holiday you want, you can use the ‘Points + Pay’ option instead. Simply redeem the points you do have and pay the outstanding balance on your American Express Card. Offers from preferred Membership Rewards airline partners are not eligible for ‘Points + Pay’.

Pay airline surcharges and taxes with points
You can choose to use points to pay for both your travel costs and the additional charges such as airline surcharges, taxes and insurance.

Important Information
  • When booking the travel consultant may require passport details of all passengers flying.
  • All travel redemptions are subject to availability. Membership Rewards and partner terms and conditions apply. Only available for fares offered through The Sabre Global Distribution System. When using the ‘Points + Pay’ option you must redeem a minimum of 10,000 points or your total points balance, whichever is lower.

TRANSFERING POINTS TO A TRANSFER PARTNER

You can transfer points to a wide range of participating premium airline partner and hotel guest programmes. Please contact the partner first to check flight or accommodation availability before transferring points.

Transferring Points Online
The first time you transfer points to a partner please call 0800 44 22 08, Monday – Friday, 8am – 6pm. Please ensure you have your partner programme account number with you when you call. This will set up the partner details on your Membership Rewards Account and you can make subsequent transfers online. To transfer online, log on to Online Services and follow the instructions.

Transferring Points By Phone
Call 0800 44 22 08, Monday – Friday, 8am – 6pm to transfer points by phone. Please ensure you have your partner programme account number with you when you call.

Important Information
  • Enrolment in transfer partner programmes is the Cardmember’s responsibility and a Cardmember must be enrolled prior to any points transfer request. Joining fees may apply.
  • Minimum redemption amounts apply. Visit our rates and fees page for details.
  • A $35 transfer fee applies to all transfers to an airline partner programme.
  • The transfer of points will usually be processed within 2-10 business days, depending on the partner.
  • Once transferred, points become subject to the Terms and Conditions of the participating partner programme and cannot be transferred back to your Membership Rewards Programme Account.
