Terms and Conditions

• 1. The APR on goods and services will be 0% p.a. for your first 6 months as a Cardmember and thereafter the standard interest rate is typical 17.9%APR variable (1.39% per month) for goods and services and 27.9% interest p.a. including cash transaction charge for Cash Withdrawals. The low goods and services rate of 0% will not apply if you do not pay the minimum amount each month. Goods and services do not include Balance Transfers, American Express Travellers Cheque purchases, Foreign Exchange and Express Cash transactions, interest, any spending in excess of your Credit Limit, charges for dishonoured cheques, late payment or referral charges and American Express Credit Card finance charges. American Express may vary the %APR, interest rates and other charges from time to time.
• 2. Spend £500 a month for the first 3 months of Cardmembership, and each month a bonus 6,000 points will be applied to your account, up to a maximum of 18,000 points (worth £90). No 6,000 point bonus will be applied for any month period in which you do not spend £500 or more. Please note that it may take up to one month for points to be applied.
• 3. Terms and Conditions of Membership Rewards Express^SM apply. You will accrue Membership Rewards Express^SM points for transactions charged and billed to your account at the following rates: 1 point for virtually every full £1 charged per transaction, 2 points for every full £1 charged per transaction at leading UK department stores (excluding Marks & Spencer), and 3 points for every full £1 charged per transaction at major UK supermarkets (excluding petrol forecourts) up to £500 per month after which you will continue to earn points at a rate of 1 point per £1. Points are not earned on American Express Travellers Cheques, Foreign Exchange, Cash Withdrawals and Other Account Charges. No points are earned in any month in which the minimum payment is not received by the due date. The minimum amount you need to pay us each month will be 10% of the total amount owing or £50, whichever is more.
  
  A dormancy fee of £20 per year will be payable by you if the aggregate amount of all transactions, other than Cash Withdrawals and Balance Transfers, that have taken place during the preceding 12 months is £0.

These benefits derive from contracts which AESEL has made with third parties which AESEL is free to amend, extend or terminate at its sole discretion. These benefits do not form part of AESEL's contract with you but AESEL will aim to inform you 30 days in advance of any changes to the available benefits which may be to your detriment. One of the benefits currently available is the benefit of contracts of insurance made between AESEL and certain insurers, for example travel insurance benefits. You will lose these benefits if you cease to be a Cardmember. Exclusions apply. Full details of the insurance benefits currently available can be found in the Summary of Benefits document which will be provided with your Card. Please read this document to understand the limits and exclusions that may apply.
