Am I eligible?

To save time before you apply for your American Express Business ExplorerTM Credit Card, it’s best to make sure you can say yes to the following:

  •   I am aged over 18
  •   I am an Australian citizen or permanent resident
  •   I have a personal gross (pre-tax) annual income of $24,000 or more
  •   I have a good credit history and no payment defaults

TERMS AND CONDITIONS

1. Offer only available to new American Express Card Members who apply by 31 January 2018, are approved and spend $3,000 on their new Card in the first 3 months from the Card approval date. Card Members who currently hold or who have previously held any other Card product issued by American Express Australia Limited in the preceding 18 month period are ineligible for this offer. Previous and existing bank-issued American Express companion cardholders are eligible for this offer (cards issued by: Australia New Zealand Banking Group Limited, Commonwealth Bank of Australia, National Australia Bank, Westpac Banking Corporation. 100,000 Membership Rewards Bonus Points will be awarded to the eligible Card Member’s account 8-10 weeks after the spend criteria has been met. This advertised offer is not applicable or valid in conjunction with any other advertised or promotional offer. 2. Interest rate is correct as at 1 July 2017 and is subject to change. This interest rate does not apply for Cash Advances and associated fees.

3. Subject to the terms and conditions of the Membership Rewards Gateway program available at membershiprewards.com.au. Government transactions will earn 0.5 points per dollar spent with Merchants classified as; “government”, including the Australian Taxation Office, the Australian Postal Corporation (Australia Post), Federal/State and Local government bodies.

4. Subject to the terms and conditions of the Membership Rewards Gateway program available at membershiprewards.com.au. To be eligible for the 50,000 Membership Reward Bonus Points, you must have spent $100,000 within the specified time period, paid the annual fee and minimum payment of the last Credit Card statement by the due date. The time period in which you need to spend $100,000 is 365 days from your Card approval date. Your spend cannot be carried forward to any subsequent Membership year/s. Membership Rewards Bonus Points will be awarded to the eligible Card Member’s account 8-10 weeks after the spend criteria has been met.

5. The Credit Card gives you up to 55 days interest free on purchases, depending upon when you make a purchase, when your statement is issued, whether you have obtained a balance transfer and whether or not you are carrying forward a balance on your account from your previous statement period. There are no interest free days on Cash Advances or for any purchases when you are carrying forward a balance on.

6. The flight values are valid as of 16 May 2017 and are based on a Virgin Australia domestic return flight from Sydney to Melbourne on an eligible route departing and returning in the period 12 June 2017 to 19 June 2017. These values are for an Economy Reward Flight and include GST and fees. Based on an average cost per return flight of 15,600 Velocity Points. Fares may vary depending on flight dates, availability and times.

7. Entry into The American Express Lounge is governed by the full terms and conditions available at goodgoing.com.au/lounge. All entrants must adhere to the General Conditions of Entry. American Express Business ExplorerTM Credit Card Members are entitled to two (2) entries into The American Express Lounge per calendar year (1st January to 31st December) for each American Express Card Account. Complimentary access is available for the Card Member’s children between the ages of 2-17. Card Members wishing to bring additional guests may be charged additional fees and that will be processed on the Card.

8. American Express credit approval criteria apply. Subject to Terms and Conditions. Fees and charges may apply. This offer is only available to those who reside in Australia. Cards are offered, issued and administered by American Express Australia Limited. Supplementary Card Members must be over 18 years of age or over.

9. Subject to the terms and conditions of the Membership Rewards Gateway program available at membershiprewards.com.au. You must be a member of the Airline Partner Program, joining fees may apply and points transferred will be subject to the terms and conditions of the applicable airline partner program.

10. Subject to the terms and conditions of the Membership Rewards Gateway program available at membershiprewards.com.au. Minimum of 1,000 points required. Any credit to your Card Account cannot exceed the current outstanding balance on your Account. Points will be debited immediately and credit will take up to three business days to appear on your online statement.

11. American Express Card Insurances are subject to terms, conditions and exclusions. The complimentary travel insurance cover is also subject to maximum age limits, pre-existing medical conditions and limits and is available when you use your American Express Business ExplorerTM Credit Card to pay for return domestic or international travel. American Express Card Insurances are underwritten by Chubb Insurance Australia Limited (ABN 23 001 642 020, AFSL No. 239687) (“Chubb”) and are subject to the terms, conditions and exclusions contained in the American Express Card insurances policy of insurance between American Express Australia Limited (ABN 92 108 952 085, AFSL No 291313) (“AEAL”) of 12 Shelley Street, Sydney 2000 and Chubb. The Insurance Terms & Conditions do not take into account your objectives, financial situation or needs. Terms and Conditions are subject to change. 12. MYOB bank feed is available to American Express Cards issued by American Express Australia Limited with the exception of David Jones American Express Cards and American Express Corporate Cards. The Card must be active at the time of enrolment.

16. If your Card is lost or stolen, you must report it immediately. You can call American Express 24 hours a day. In Australia, call us on 1300 363 687. If you are overseas, report your lost or stolen Card to the nearest American Express Travel Service or Representative Office. Once you have notified us, you are not liable for any unauthorised charges.
