Why choose an American Express Platinum Card?

For a Card that delivers on every level, look no further than the range of American Express Premium Cards. What makes a Card Platinum?

Premium or Platinum Cards offer great value benefits, more perks and richer rewards than a standard Credit Card. These benefits normally come with a higher annual fee, so you should weigh up the value of these benefits together with the way you spend to see how the Card will suit your lifestyle. The terms ‘Platinum’ and ‘Premium’ can often be used interchangeably when it comes to describing Credit Cards – it is less to do with the actual card colour, and more to do with the breadth and quality of benefits that come with the Card, with these categories typically providing the richest benefits available by any Credit Card provider.

How is a Platinum program superior?

Our Premium Cards offer the chance to earn a higher points rate per dollar spent – either as a higher overall rate, or at an accelerated rate on specific spend categories. So, for example, fine dining connoisseurs can earn 3 points per dollar spent in restaurants in Australia when paying with The American Express Platinum Card.

As well as a higher points earn rate, Platinum or Premium Cards typically carry additional benefits, the majority of which are geared towards the frequent traveller. To make international trips even more comfortable, Card benefits may include complimentary lounge access, concierge services, travel insurance benefits, a yearly travel credit to spend with American Express Travel and a range of other benefits to help you arrive refreshed and ready for anything.
