Membership Rewards is a customer loyalty program that rewards Card Members when they use their American Express Cards. In a nutshell, the more you use your Card for your everyday purchases, the more Membership Rewards points you earn. You can use your points for a wide variety of travel, shopping and entertainment rewards. You can also transfer points to other loyalty programs such as Airline or Hotel Guest Transfer Partners.

It takes 24-48 hours after your purchase has appeared on your account to show up in your Membership Rewards points balance.
Your points don’t expire. You may, however, forfeit points earned in the previous month if your account is overdue. You automatically lose points when you cancel your Card or cancel your enrolment in the Membership Rewards program. You must redeem your points or transfer your points to a linked account prior to a cancellation.
Forfeited points are Membership Rewards points that have been forfeited because a card payment hasn’t been received within 40 days of the statement closing date (for example, your Account is 40 days or more overdue in terms of payment).
First, you need to settle your overdue account. Then you need to reinstate your points within 90 days of your original statement date or your points will expire. A fee does apply. You can either reinstate them online or call Membership Rewards on 1300 363 276 between 8am and 6pm, Monday to Friday.

You may be able to purchase other items using your American Express Card then use points to pay off eligible purchases through your online account or using the American Express Mobile App. Find out more here.
You can also redeem points for virtually anything you desire by contacting Rewards Concierge on 1300 731 794 as long as you hold a personal Card, are enrolled in Membership Rewards Ascent or Ascent Premium, and have an existing points balance of more than 100,000 points.
Unfortunately we do not allow you to transfer your Corporate Card fee to your personal Card.
You can top up your balance and buy points at a rate of $25.00 per 1,000 points when redeeming for merchandise or gift cards, or to transfer points to any of our partners.
Your Membership Rewards statement cuts off four to six days prior to your Card statement. So, if there are charges on your account after the statement cut-off date, they will be reflected in your next Membership Rewards statement. Click here to login and see your current balance.
If you have eligible accounts that are enrolled in the same program option, then yes, they may be linked. Please call us on the number at the back of your Card to organise this.
Yes, provided your company allows it. Please speak your company’s Program Administrator. Only individual Card Members, not companies, may participate in the Membership Rewards program. As an individual Card Member, you will earn points automatically whenever you use your Card, so long as you are enrolled in the program.
Before you can transfer points to a participating partner, you will need to register your membership number with us (your Velocity Membership number, for example). To do this, log into your account and link your membership number to your Membership Rewards account. You can then transfer points to any of your available partners. After that, all you need to do is contact the airline or hotel directly to make your travel arrangements.

Most transfers take between one and three days. However, it's best to allow at least five business days, just to be on the safe side.
Membership Rewards points can only be transferred by you into an airline rewards or frequent guest program account in your name.
Unfortunately, once you have completed a point transfer to airline or hotel transfer partner programs it cannot be reversed.
Please note: You will not be awarded points for the portion that you pay with your Card.

Points for Credit may be redeemed on your primary Card account in set denominations of $50, $100, $250, $500 and $1,000. We’ve also made it easy for you to pay off individual purchases already made with points through your online account or through the Amex Mobile App. Find out more here.
American Express may decline a request where the Card account or Card Member's other accounts with American Express are not in good standing. The redemption of points will be administered by American Express within three business days and cannot be reversed.
Points for Credit is not available for redemption by Corporate Card holders and points are not redeemable for cash via credit balance refund. Exclusions apply if you’ve opted in to a direct-earn program such as Qantas Direct or Spirit.
If we’ve received a written authorisation from you, a third party may call in to redeem your points for credit, for a Gift Card or to transfer points to a partner account held in your name.
The travel rewards you redeem using points may be booked for any person, provided all your accounts are active, kept in good standing and are not overdue.
We will process your request as quickly as possible. Please keep in mind:
Gift cards are valid for three months from the date of issue, unless stated otherwise.
For gift cards not received within the stated timeframe, please call the number on the back of your Card within 28 days from the date of redemption and we will be able to investigate further for you. For any merchandise you haven’t received from David Jones Online, you should contact the David Jones Online Customer Service Centre on 1800 354 663 between 8am - 8pm Monday to Friday (AEST).
Rewards will be automatically delivered to the address on your statement. If you’d prefer delivery to a different address, please provide the details at the point of redemption. If you’re providing a work address, please include the business name when placing your order.
Rewards will be delivered between 9am and 5pm, Monday to Friday. If no one is home, a calling card will be left so you can collect from your local post office. Please note that rewards cannot be delivered outside Australia and gift cards over the value of $600 cannot be delivered to a PO Box.
As per the Membership Rewards terms and conditions, points cannot be refunded once used to make purchases at David Jones Online. For the David Jones returns policy, please refer to www.davidjones.com.au/Return-policy If you are not completely satisfied with any purchase made using Membership Rewards points, you can return it to any David Jones store or to the address below with your proof of purchase. David Jones will then provide you with a returns card to the value of the item being returned, in Australian dollars. The returns card may be used to make purchases at any David Jones store in Australia, excluding the online store.

Please include your completed return slip, found on the back of your Proof of Purchase. A Customer Relations Online Assistant will call you to process your return once it’s been received. David Jones will not reimburse postage costs for returned items unless the item is faulty.
Orders for merchandise can only be shipped to addresses within Australia and cannot be shipped to PO Boxes. Orders for gift cards can be sent to addresses within Australia or PO Boxes, unless the gift card value is more than $600. In that case it can only be sent to an address.
