Pay Bill Online

A quick, convenient and secure way to pay your American Express® Card account. Pay Bill Online allows you to register your bank account details and make immediate payments or scheduled payments in the future whenever you’re online.

Automatic Payment Plan (Direct Debit)

A quick and easy service that allows you to pay your full monthly payment, a fixed amount or total amount owing automatically each month, directly from your nominated account.

Automatic Payment Plan also ensures that your account is always paid on time, even if you are travelling on business. To use this service simply register for Online Services.

Pay online with BPAY®

To arrange for your American Express Business Card account to be paid by BPAY, contact your participating bank, credit union or building society to make payment directly from your cheque or savings account, online or over the phone. It doesn’t just save you time, it also lets you pay from overseas as well.

Simply follow the prompts and enter Biller Code 5082 and your Customer Reference Number, which is the same as your Card number.

Pay by Mail

Send a cheque made payable to ‘American Express’ together with your remittance slip to:

Please send one cheque per payment.

Pay in person

You can pay your account in person with cash or cheque at Australia Post Offices (Cards issued in Australia only) or American Express Foreign Exchange Offices in Australia.

To make Card payments in person you must present your current Card Account Statement. Please note that if you are enrolled in Online Statements you cannot make payments in person at Australia Post Offices.

Cash payments are limited to AUD 6,500, or the outstanding balance as shown on your current Card Account Statement, whichever is the lesser.

Paying in person incurs a $2 processing fee (excluding Platinum Cards).

Please allow 24 hours processing time.

Pay by phone

Access your account and make a payment with one phone call. Simply call 1300 132 639 and follow the prompts to register your bank details, make a payment or schedule a future payment.

You have the choice to register your bank details online or by phone. Once you’re registered you have the flexibility to make either phone or online payments. There’s no commitment. You can update your preferences or use other payment methods whenever you like, quickly and easily.

Pay by Australia Post POSTbillpay®

With Australia Post POSTbillpay®, you have three easy payment options: online at, by phone on
13 18 16, or in Person at any Australia Post Office. A processing fee will apply to payments made in person at Australia Post and will be charged and itemised on your forthcoming statement. Please note that if you are enrolled in Online Statements  you cannot make payments in person at Australia Post Offices.
