Why is my transaction in both the “Pending Transactions” AND “Recent Transactions” sections?

Certain merchants, such as hotels, car rental agencies, and petrol stations, will often pre-authorise your Card for an amount to ensure that funds are available.  Once the transaction bills, the pre-authorization will drop off the account within 10 business days and may cause the transaction to appear in BOTH the Pending and Recent Transactions sections.
