American Express® and Aeroplan®* are excited to be continuing their partnership with the launch of the new Aeroplan Program. Please see the below for questions and details about the changes to the American Express Corporate AeroplanPlus Program. Please note, you will be unable to add any new Cards to your account from September 4, 2020 to November 7, 2020.
Is the Corporate AeroplanPlus Program changing?
The new program comes with an updated cash back incentive that will help you save on business travel once travel is back.1
Current Cash Back Incentive
Currently, your Corporation earns up to 4% cash back annually on eligible Air Canada purchases with a minimum annual spend of $20,000 and maximum annual spend of $500,000.
January 1, 2020 – December 31, 2021
For the period from January 1, 2020 to December 31, 2020, your Corporation will receive the better of the following:
a. Up to 4% cash back annually on eligible Air Canada purchases with a minimum annual spend of $20,000 and maximum annual spend of $500,000.
OR
b. 1.5% cash back on eligible Air Canada purchases with no minimum or maximum spend threshold.
As of January 1, 2022
As of January 1, 2022, your Corporation will receive 1.5% cash back annually on eligible Air Canada purchases with no minimum or maximum threshold.

You are not eligible to participate in the Air Canada Cash Back Program or the Air Canada for Business benefits if you do not enroll in Air Canada for Business. To ensure

Are the Cards changing?
The American Express AeroplanPlus Corporate Card is changing to the new American Express Aeroplan Corporate Card. The American Express AeroplanPlus Corporate Platinum Card is changing to the new American Express Aeroplan Corporate Reserve Card. Both new Cards have enhanced benefits.
Are the Card earn rates changing?
The Card earn rates will remain the same as it is now:

Passes can be used by the Cardmember or their companions, at select Maple Leaf Lounges in North America with a same day ticket on a departing Air Canada flight.7 |

Priority Airport Standby Receive priority on the standby list if the Cardmember and up to eight companions travelling on the same reservation are on standby at the airport for an Air Canada flight. *Lost or Stolen Baggage Insurance is already an insurance benefits on the AeroplanPlus Corporate Platinum Card, and will continue to be a benefit to Cardmembers on the new Aeroplan Corporate Reserve Card.
In order to access the Air Canada benefits, please make sure all the Cardmember’s information is accurate with American Express and that they have a valid Aeroplan number on file. In order to access their travel benefits with Air Canada, they will also need to include their Aeroplan number on their Air Canada reservations.
There is no enrolment required for any benefits on the Aeroplan Corporate Reserve Card and the Aeroplan Corporate Card. Cardmembers will be able to enjoy their new benefits as of November 8, 2020.
What to expect during the transition:
The 15-digit number on the front of the Cards will remain the same.
Effective on the Cardmembership anniversary date after November 6, 2021, the annual fee for the NEW American Express Aeroplan Corporate Reserve Card will be $699 and the annual fee for the NEW American Express Aeroplan Corporate Card will be $120. For this year we want your employees to experience all that the new Cards have to offer by not increasing the annual fee at this time. This means for the first year, your employees will enjoy the NEW American Express Aeroplan Corporate Reserve Card for $350 and the NEW American Express Aeroplan Corporate Card for $75.
Yes! Cardmembers can continue to use the same Card to access the new benefits until they receive their new Card at their next renewal.

Cardmember’s miles will be valued at 1:1 in the new Aeroplan Program. Current miles balance will remain in the Cardmember’s account. After November 8, 2020 Aeroplan Miles will be referred to as Aeroplan points.
Cardmember’s Aeroplan number will remain the same.
