A message for our AeroplanPlus Reserve Cardmembers 

For 160+ years, Amex has been committed to serving its Canadian customers. Together, we’re facing unprecedented times, but nothing is more important than ensuring that, regardless of circumstance, our commitment to you does not waver.


We know our customers lives, like our own, have changed dramatically in the past few weeks. We are assessing where we need to make short-term changes to ensure that our Cardmembers continue to derive value from the American Express® AeroplanPlus®* Reserve Card that they love so much.


First and foremost, we are dedicated to ensuring you can access the many benefits that your American Express AeroplanPlus Reserve Card offers and have therefore made the following changes to provide you greater flexibility when planning future travel:


  • If your $200 Annual Travel Credit5 expired or is set to expire between January and September of this year, and you have not already used it, we will be proactively issuing you a replacement credit. There is nothing required from you at this time, and we will be in touch with more details on how the replacement will be updated on your account.
  • You may not have an opportunity to use your annual Partner TicketTM4 at this time. If your Partner Ticket benefit has expired or is set to expire between January and August of this year, and it has not yet been redeemed, Aeroplan will be extending the expiration date to redeem your Partner Ticket until September 30, 2020.


We understand that these challenging times may create a need for financial assistance, and we are here to work with our Cardmembers to find options that can help them stay in control of their finances. We can help with short-term financial assistance depending on a Cardmember’s circumstances. If you have been financially impacted by this pandemic, we encourage you to call the number on the back of your Card to speak with one of our Customer Care Professionals. And as always, you are able to access information about your account by logging in to Online Services and the American Express® App.


We hope that these initial steps help demonstrate how committed we are to supporting you at this critical time. Over the next few weeks, we will send you information on additional programs designed to further enhance the value of your Card.  We will continue to back you so that when we emerge from this, we’ll all come out stronger together.
