Victoria’s weather is famously unpredictable, especially in Melbourne. Bring layers, a compact umbrella, and sun protection year-round.
Many of Victoria’s gems—like the Great Ocean Road, Grampians National Park, and Yarra Valley—are best reached by car. Renting a vehicle is recommended.
In Melbourne and many regional hubs, public transport uses a myki card system. Pick one up at stations, 7-Eleven stores, or online to use trams, trains, and buses.
Melbourne’s tap water is safe, clean, and has a similar taste to bottled water. You’ll find plenty of water fountains around the city, making water bottle refills easy.
