Flight Delay Insurance¹⁷^†

Coverage for when your flight is delayed or you are denied boarding for up to 4 hours or more and no alternate transportation is made available. When you charge your airline tickets to your Card, you could receive up to $1,000 (combined maximum with Baggage Delay Insurance) for necessary and reasonable accommodations, restaurant expenses, and essential items purchased within the period of the flight delay or denied boarding.

Car Rental Theft and Damage Insurance²⁰^†

You could be covered in the event of the theft, loss, and/or damage of your rental auto with a Manufacturer's Suggested Retail Price of up to $85,000 for rentals of 48 days or less. To use this protection, be sure to charge the full cost of your rental to your Card and decline the Collision Damage Waiver, Loss Damage Waiver, or similar option offered by the rental agency.

When you charge eligible items to your Card, you could be insured for 120 days from the date of purchase in the event of accidental physical damage or theft for up to $1,000 per occurrence (even if the occurrence involves more than one insured item).

*This charge Card has both Due in Full and Flexible Payment Option balances. All Due in Full balances must be paid each month. Interest rate of 30% applies to each delinquent Due in Full charge. The Preferred rate of 21.99% applies to your Flexible Payment Option balance. If you have 2 separate Missed Payments in a 12 month period, the Flexible Payment Option rate for your account will be 25.99%. If you have 3 or more separate Missed Payments in a 12 month period, the Flexible Payment Option rate will be 29.99%. These rates are effective from the day account is opened.

What airport lounges are included with Amex Platinum?

Platinum Cardmembers can access a global network of airport lounges through the American Express Global Lounge Collection. This includes participating Plaza Premium, Priority Pass™, The Centurion® Lounge, Delta Sky Club® (when flying Delta), and other partner lounges. Lounge access eligibility and entry requirements vary by location and lounge program.

Complimentary access to Plaza Premium and Priority Pass lounges is changing.

Effective, January 1, 2027, Platinum Cardmembers will receive a limited number of complimentary visits to Plaza Premium and Priority Pass lounges each year. Access to other lounges in the Global Lounge Collection remains unlimited.

Starting in January 2026, we’ll begin tracking your annual spend to determine eligibility to unlock unlimited lounge access in 2027. If you don’t reach $20,000 in spend during 2026 you can unlock unlimited lounge visits to Plaza Premium and Priority Pass lounges by reaching $20,000 in eligible spend on your account within the calendar year. Once that spend level is reached, unlimited access will be active for the rest of that year and the following calendar year.
