Perched 1,000 feet above the sea, Golden Rock Inn is a former sugar estate located on the east side of the island of Nevis. This Caribbean retreat dates back to the 1800s and has retained much of its original stone buildings, which have been converted into cottages. While the property has a sense of history, it is also thoroughly modern and graceful.

The gardens were designed by Miami-based designer Raymond Jungles under the stewardship of the hotel's owners. Some of its more exotic plants include the pagoda flower and sausage tree.

The estate is comprised of 11 guest rooms that are housed in brightly painted stand-alone and duplex cottages, that include a converted historic sugar mill. Interiors are bright and breezy, with bold furniture and colorful rugs. All rooms have private outdoor spaces.

The onsite restaurant, The Rocks, offers al fresco breakfast, lunch, and dinner. Menu selections fuse Caribbean cuisine with global favorites, with an emphasis on fresh, seasonal fare. Enjoy a sunset cocktail at the bar, housed in a former sugar refinery.

The picturesque freshwater pool is fed by a natural spring and is tucked among palm trees and bougainvillea. Enjoy a garden tour with the head gardener or try a yoga session by the pool. In-room massages can be arranged.

Explore the property’s thoughtfully landscaped gardens, which span 40 acres and include more than 50 species of palm trees as well as native plants and grasses. Enjoy the island’s beaches or hike to the top of Mount Nevis. Snorkeling, fishing, and mountain biking adventures can be arranged.
