Bloom & Wild is an online florist that can safely deliver flowers even when no one is home. In the early days of the company, founded in 2013, Aron was meticulous in ensuring that his packaged flowers could fit through all doors – a key selling point of the business – by measuring all shapes and sizes of letterboxes.
When the pandemic hit in early 2020 and people were seeking contactless ways to show appreciation and care for friends and family, Bloom & Wild experienced unexpected levels of growth. This posed new challenges for Aron’s supply chain management.
In this episode, Sharmadean and Aron explore and unpack this challenge, and many more small business topics. Among these, they discuss the rising costs of goods and energy, how to go about choosing new markets to import products from, and how Bloom & Wild uses a proprietary algorithm to optimise its supply chain forecasting.
