The following is an illustration of total value that the Cardmember can derive out of the Platinum corporate card.

¹Value earned through Membership Rewards (MR) and spend based benefit

If the Cardmember spends INR 3,50,000 monthly, we are assuming that 80% spends are on Travel & Entertainment and categories where 1 Membership Reward (MR) is earned per INR 40 spent. 20% spends are on select categories where 1 Membership Reward (MR) is earned per INR 100 spent. Refer to this link for MR terms and conditions.

Basis this assumption, the Cardmember spends INR 42,00,000 yearly on MR earning categories and earns Membership Rewards worth INR 27,720 (A). The cardmember also becomes eligible for GyFTR voucher worth INR 10,000 (B) basis these spends. Hence total value comes to be A + B = INR 37,720

Calculation Methodology & Other Assumptions

• Average redemption rate assumed at INR 0.3 per MR 
• 1 MR earned per INR 100 spent for select categories.
• 1 MR earner per INR 40 spent on other categories
• Formula = 80% *INR 42,00,000 * (MR earned @ 0.025) * (MR redemption rate) + 20%*INR 42,00,000 * (MR earned @ 0.01) * (MR redemption rate) + INR 10,000 (flat voucher)

²Value earned through accelerated MR points through Rewards Multiplier

If the Cardmember spends INR 10,000 monthly on brands that offer accelerated rewards (up to 5X) through Rewards Multiplier, yearly spends come about to be INR 1,20,000. The MR value derived from such spends equals INR 3,600

• Additional 4 MR earned per INR 40 spent.

³Value earned on domestic travel

Lounge benefit on domestic terminals

If the Cardmember takes at least 2 domestic tripsl per year, we are assuming that one would avail centurion lounge once and any partner lounge another time.

Calculation methodology – INR 4,000 (Market rate for guest entry @ Centurion lounge is $50 per guest per entry + INR 1,000 (average market rate for lounge visit per guest per entry. Actual rates can vary) = INR 5,000

⁴Value earned on international travel

Priority pass benefit value on international terminals

If Cardmember takes at least 2 international trips per year, we are assuming that one would avail priority pass lounges during those visits.

Value derived = INR7,920 (Market value of Basic priority pass membership value @ $99) + 2(no. of international trips per year) * INR 2800 (priority pass per visit fee per guest @ $35) = INR 13,520

Fine Hotels + Resorts (FHR) benefits

We are assuming that cardmember will avail any FHR property at least once in a year and stay for 2 nights during one’s international travel.

Calculation methodology

• Average value based on FINE HOTELS & RESORTS booking in 2021 for stays of two nights. Actual value will vary based on property, room rate, upgrade availability and use of benefits. We are assuming one such booking per year. Source: www.americanexpress.com/in/explorefhr
• Total value would be the sum of Daily Breakfast for 2 for 2 days: USD 150, Room Upgrade for 2 nights: USD 150, Unique Amenity and Welcome Gift: USD 100, Late Checkout: USD 100

Car rental bookings through Hertz – We are assuming that Cardmember will book car rental through Hertz at least once during one’s international travels and one booking would be valid for 2 calendar days.

Value derived = 15% (Discount applicable for American Express Card holders) * INR 4,800 (Market value of per day booking is $60. Actual rates vary basis geography and type of car rented) * 2 (no. of booked days) = INR 2,880

Travel insurance benefit

We are assuming that cardmember will avail overseas travel insurance every time one travels international (2 times a year assumed above) and at least once cardmember will get air accident travel insurance.

Value derived = INR 10,000 (Market value of air accident insurance) + 2(no. of international trips) * INR 1,500 (Market value of overseas health insurance) = INR 13,000

Transaction value linked benefit on MMT Biz

It is assumed that cardmember will book at least one of the international travels from MMT Biz and booking value would be INR 2,00,000 or above. Cardmember will receive an MMT voucher worth INR 15,000 for such booking.

Booking tickets through International Airline Program

We are assuming that cardmember will book at least one of the international trips from American Express Travel Online Portal through any of the participating airlines.

Value derived = INR 70,000 (Average round trip price from India to any major city in Europe for 1 person) * 15% (average discount on any participating airline) = INR 10,500

⁵Value earned on premium hotel stays

If the Cardmember avail premium hotel stays 5 times a year, we are assuming that 2 of such stays can be on properties which participate in Marriott Bonvoy program and remaining 3 would be on TAJ properties (including TAJ palaces and Safaris)

Marriott Bonvoy Program - Calculation methodology & Other Assumptions

• We are assuming the average value of stay at properties enrolled in Marriott Bonvoy (in India) is INR 15,000 per night and each stay is for at least 2 nights.
• Average rewards redemption rate of Marriott points is INR 0.5 per point. Assuming Cardmember would pay with points on participating properties. Actual rates will vary.
• Value derived = (1.25x rewards * Marriott spends * no. of Marriott stays * redemption rate) = INR 4,688 (C)

Complimentary TAJ Epicure Plus membership - Calculation methodology & Other Assumptions

• We are assuming that each stay on TAJ properties will be for 2 nights and value per stay would be INR 25,000
• We are assuming that Cardmember will dine in participating hotels at least once a year as minimum order value to be INR 6,000 (for 2 people)
• We are assuming that Cardmember will order from QMIN app at least once a year as minimum order value to be INR 4,000 (for 2 people) • We are assuming that Cardmember will avail Spa treatment at least once a year with value as INR 5,000 (for 2 people)
• Value derived = 25% * INR 6,000 + 25%* INR 4,000 +25% * Spa treatment + 20% * INR 25,000 *3 (times a year) = INR 18,750 (D)

Hence total value derived from premium hotel stays is (C) + (D) = INR 23,438
