Health insurance companies are sending their 2013 renewal packages to their small-business clients. In addition to the renewal rates, a section titled "Health Care Reform" is included with a timetable of important changes taking place. Among the changes are requirements by employers to notify employees of these changes.
Starting in March 2013, employers must notify employees about the availability of Heath Insurance Exchanges and potential eligibility for assistance programs through the Exchange. This notification must also be given to new employees on the date of hire.
