London is an amazing destination with so many sights to uncover and unique neighborhoods to experience. Even though it was my first time in the city, staying at Ham Yard made me feel like a local who already knew the all the best places to go.
Located right in the middle of Soho, I was surrounded by some of the trendiest restaurants and scenes the city has to offer, all within walking distance. With the theatre district right around the corner, shopping in nearby Mayfair and easy access to London's extensive public transportation system, the city felt so easy to navigate.
At Ham Yard, the first thing I took advantage of was the Soholistic Spa, booking a 30-minute massage to beat the jet lag. The relaxation extends beyond the spa—Ham Yard presents an inviting escape, where I didn’t have to leave if I didn’t want to. From English breakfasts at the restaurant to playing cards in the library and bowling a few frames at the vintage Croc Bowling Alley, there were so many spots to hang out solo or gather with friends. It felt good to have a space to fully unwind. And, after a week of walking the streets, riding the tube and taking taxis, I wanted to go right back to the spa.
The best part of staying at Ham Yard is that every element feels personal. Each room in the hotel is individually designed, and that left a very strong impression. Staying in the Courtyard Suite felt like a home away from home. Even though the suite was quite large, the colors, texture and patterns of the décor made it feel cozy and inviting. The all-granite bathrooms added an extra level of luxury and, admittedly, I took advantage of the soaking tub on more than one occasion. Taking morning coffee on the balcony overlooking the courtyard was a calm way to start the day, and I always looked forward to returning to the room after a long day of exploring the city.
Finally, I’d be remiss not to mention the service: the staff went above and beyond to make my stay perfect. From the warm welcome and tour of the property, to the personal attention at every meal, the staff was always there to help make the experience comfortable and unforgettable.
