Uruguay

I came late to Uruguay, making my first trip there in 2005, when I traveled from Montevideo to Colonia del Sacramento to Punta del Este by car. Since then, I have been back 6 times since that first visit. As I do for every destination in South America, after visiting several times, I formed a relationship with a local tour operator in the capital, allowing me to use my personal knowledge of the country, combined with the local expertise, to guide our clients to the places within places that will make their trip to Uruguay special and unique.

Insider Tip

The nicest places to stay in Punta del Este are outside of Punta del Este, and, with La Barra getting all the tourists, chose one of the other towns, like San Rafael or Portezuelo, for a quieter stay (or in La Barra if you don't want a quieter time in Punta).

Other Specialties
Brazil
Brazil

Having traveled to Brazil often for the last 22 years, I speak, read and write Portuguese, the country's official language, which has helped me specialize in travel to Brazil. I have visited almost every part of the country, from the Amazon to Iguacu Falls, from Rio to Salvador, Florianopolis to Recife and all points in between. As an American who is married to a Brazilian, I combine a North American perspective with a Brazilian understanding of the country, allowing me to help my clients create the journey of a lifetime. I can explain why one destination might be better for them than another, or why they would like one beach area over another, depending on what they have told me about themselves and what they hope to get out of their trip. Having visited all of these places, I can recommend restaurants, excursions, and help direct clients to places they might not have otherwise considered, things that will help them make the most of their experience. Brazil is more than a destination, it is a state of mind, one which conjures up images of days spent frolicking on sun drenched beaches and steamy nights swaying to Bossa Nova music. My clients never forget their Brazil experience.

Insider Tip

Brazil is a place to meet and connect with the people, ask me how!

Chile
Chile

I have been traveling to Chile for the last twenty-three years, and it has been an integral part of my business for the last twenty years. In that time, I have developed strong connections with local operators. I use my knowledge of the country and my connections with locals to craft unique experiences for my clients, allowing them to enjoy Chile as only a Chilean would.

Insider Tip

Chile is a wine lover's paradise, with vineyards located a short distance from Santiago, starting in the Maipo Valley, which so close it is almost part of the capital now.

Peru
Peru

My first trip to Peru was in 1998, when I visited Lima, Cusco, the Sacred Valley, Machu Picchu, and the Peruvian Amazon. I was mesmerized by the beauty, history, and amazing cultures that make up Peru. Once visited, Peru becomes an obsession. Over the years I have returned to Peru often, setting up connections with local tour operators to take care of my clients. With an intimate knowledge of the country, and using people who were born and raised in each destination, I am able to give each client a unique and personal voyage to a place that is, for many people, a deeply spiritual journey

Insider Tip

Since almost everyone wants to visit Machu Picchu when they are in Peru: you must book a future date and time before you go to Peru to ensure that you get to experience the sanctuary, and it may be done online (you can also choose what you want to visit, including climbing Huayna Pichu).

Argentina
Argentina

I have been traveling to Argentina since 1996. It was the 2nd country I visited in South America, although it felt much more like Europe. I have traveled across Argentina for 25 years, from north to south and west to east, and created a network of local tour operators that help me create amazing experiences for my clients. From the cultural in Buenos Aires, to the Epicurean all over, to adventure travel in the mountains, or in Patagonia or Terra del Fuego, from Ushuaia to Mendoza, from the Perito Moreno glacier to the lake region near Bariloche, we have Argentina completely covered.

Insider Tip

People may think it sounds cheesy and no real traveler would do it, but a Tango show in Buenos Aires - there are several that are excellent - is an unforgettable experience for anyone who visits the city.
