Japan

Born and reared in Northern Japan for the first 20 years of my life, I continue to travel back to my homeland at least three times a year to stay current on the country's latest happenings, restaurant and hotel openings, and the ever-changing sightseeing options. I have established and maintained personal relationships with owners and managers of luxury Japanese hotels throughout the country. Ryokan, a type of traditional Japanese inn that has existed since the 8th century, is my specialty. I've been selected as the top Japan Specialist and Southeast Asia Specialist (A-List agent) by Travel & Leisure Magazine for twelve years. Also, I have attended and been a featured panelist at both the Tokyo and Kyoto luxury travel marts. I have arranged private Maiko dinners and Zen meditation sessions as well as spiritual cleansing fire rituals by Buddhist priests. I'm constantly searching for off-the-beaten-path rural areas that are filled with natural beauty and hidden treasures. Who knows where your adventure will lead! Call or email me today and let's find out!

Insider Tip

To enjoy an authentic Japanese cultural experience, stay in a restored 17th century, thatched-roof farmhouse operated by a Buddhist Monk.

Other Specialties
Thailand
Thailand

I have a unique understanding of Asian culture and attitudes. I appreciate Asian hospitality, including the obligation to be good hosts to guests. I regularly visit Thailand because I believe first-hand knowledge and experience provide a unique perspective about what is possible at each destination for my clients to look forward to and enjoy. Rather than just booking airline tickets and hotel reservations, I offer experiences that will be remembered and cherished, talked about at dinner parties, and posted on social media pages. I have been creating customized itineraries for Thailand-bound clients for more than a decade and I have been included as one of Travel & Leisure Magazine's top A-list agents for nearly 12 years with Japan and Southeast Asia my specialties. My clients are very diverse and no two bookings are the same. I carefully design each travel itinerary to include bucket list wishes, hobbies, and special interests. Ready to craft your special journey? Call or email me today, and let's get started!

Insider Tip

Travel to northern Thailand to experience spectacular misty mountains and the rich culture of the Lanna Kingdom. Sit on your private hilltop terrace in the early morning overlooking rice paddies and the jungle below. Watch as elephants graze in the distance, and hear the birds chirping and the sounds of the jungle coming to life.

Vietnam
Vietnam

I have been traveling to the Indochinese Peninsula in Southeast Asia for more than a decade, creating unique and exciting Vietnam itineraries for my clients, including solo travelers, groups of friends, honeymooners, and multi-generational families. Generally, the best time to visit Vietnam is between November and April, when the country experiences the least amount of rainfall. However, due to the country’s geography, the climate in Vietnam varies greatly from north to south. I will work closely with you to time your journey so that you will visit each stop along your journey when weather is optimal. Vietnam may be the most scenically beautiful country in Southeast Asia, with over 2000 miles of coastline offering many incredible beach destinations. Vietnam is also surprisingly culturally diverse, with a myriad of ethnic groups. Did you know that most Vietnamese festivals reflect influences of Buddhism, Taoism, and Confucianism? From the earliest Chinese Dynasties, to the Montagnards (mountain people) of the north and central highlands, and the Cham Malayo-Polynesian traders of the central and southern coastal regions combine to offer travelers wonderful opportunities for once-in-a-lifetime experiences. My frequent visits to Vietnam allow me to provide a unique perspective about what is possible at each destination for my clients to look forward to and enjoy. Rather than just booking airline tickets and hotel reservations, I offer experiences that will be remembered and cherished, talked about at dinner parties, and posted on social media pages. I was one of Travel & Leisure Magazine's top A-list agents for nearly 12 years, with Japan and Southeast Asia as my primary specialties. My clients are very diverse, and no two bookings are the same. I carefully design each travel itinerary to include bucket list wishes, hobbies, and special interests. Ready to craft your special journey? Call or email me today, and let's get started!

Insider Tip

I highly recommend visits to the ancient capital of Hue City, and the most beautiful Vietnamese city of Hoi An, stopping in-between at the top of a high mountain pass to rest and enjoy a cup of Jasmine tea or French coffee, while taking in breathtaking views of the South China Sea below.
