When is a cardmember eligible for a refund of the available balance on the card in an Indian Rupee Cheque?
Cardmember is eligible only if a gift card has expired (crossed the valid thru date mentioned on the front of the card) and has Available Balance.
Please note: A cardmember needs to reach out to our Customer Care Services helpline 000 800 443 1188 (toll free) post expiry of the card for available balance, if any. The refund in Indian Rupee voucher cheque is effective from 01 November, 2016 onward. The refund would be paid if the available balance is in accordance with the RBI DEAF guidelines and the cardmember has submitted all the relevant Know Your customer documents to the satisfaction of American Express. Please allow 25 business days to process your refund post submission of valid KYC documents.
