Up to 55 days interest free on purchases1

The breathing space between the day you make a purchase and the day your Card statement is due can be up to 55 days1– just by settling your monthly statement in full. Prefer to pay off your balance over time? That’s fine too. Not only does this give you the option to spread payments for new purchases, but our competitive interest rate also makes it a smart option.

Fraud Protection Guarantee

With the American Express Fraud Protection Guarantee, use your Card online or offline with confidence. As long as you’ve taken reasonable care to protect your account details and PIN, and you let us know as soon as possible when problems occur, you won’t be held responsible for unauthorised charges2

Emergency Card Replacement

If your Card is lost, stolen or damaged in New Zealand, report it immediately by calling Cardmember Services on 0800 656 660. If you are overseas, call +64 9 583 82873.Once you have notified us, you won’t be liable for any unauthorised charges2. We can then organise for a replacement Card to be delivered – usually within one business day – to virtually anywhere in the world.

1. The Credit Card gives you up to 55 days interest free on purchases, depending on when you make a purchase, when your statement is issued, whether you have obtained a balance transfer and whether or not you are carrying forward a balance on your account from the previous statement period. There are no interest free days for cash advances or for any purchases where you are carrying forward a balance on your account from the previous statement period.

2. Provided that you notify us immediately upon discovery of any fraudulent transactions and you have complied with your Card Conditions, you will not be held liable for any unauthorised charges. "Immediately" means as soon as you are aware but no later than on or after the due date for payment of the statement in which the fraudulent transaction appears.

3. If your Credit Card is lost or stolen, you must report it immediately. You can call American Express 24 hours a day. In New Zealand, call us on 0800 656 660. If you are overseas call + 64 9 583 8300 or report your lost or stolen Card to the nearest American Express Travel Service or Representative Office. Once you have notified us, you are not liable for any unauthorised charges.

4. Supplementary Credit Cardmembers must be over 18 years of age. You will be liable for all Supplementary Credit Card spending.
