1.What is Shop Small?
Shop Small is a nationwide movement dedicated to supporting the thousands of small businesses in New Zealand, who are the backbone of our community and economy. The movement brings together support from the business community and consumers, encouraging them to support small businesses in their communities.
2.When is Shop Small?
We will be kicking off Shop Small on 1 September 2022 and running through to 30 November 2022.
3.What is the Shop Small Card Member Amex Offer?
Eligible American Express Card Members who spend $10 or more in one transaction, in-store or online at participating small businesses by 30 November 2022 will receive a $5 credit, up to 10 times. Card Members must save the offer to their Card before they spend to receive the credit. The offer is limited to the first 40,000 Cards. Exclusions, T&Cs apply.

1.How do I save the offer to my Card?

2.Do I need to save the offer to my Card first to receive the credit?
Yes. To participate in the Card Member Offer and receive the credit you must save the offer to your eligible American Express Card before you make a transaction at a participating business.
3.When will I receive my credit(s)?
Credit may take up to 90 days to appear on your Account upon completion of an eligible transaction.
4.Why can't I save the offer?
As per the Shop Small Amex Offer Terms and Conditions, not all Cards are eligible for this offer. If your Card is not eligible, you will receive an error message and you will not be able to save the offer. Corporate and business travel Cards are not eligible.
Replacement Cards: If you are issued a replacement Card with a new Card number after registration, your participation in this offer will end & you will need to save the offer to the new eligible Card.
5.What transactions are not eligible?
The following transactions are not eligible and will not count towards your spend for the purposes of the offer:
a. Transactions where you do not spend directly with your Card to which the offer is saved, in-store at a participating Shop Small business.
b. Excludes transactions made through a third party establishment or payment processor.
c. Transactions that are subsequently cancelled or refunded.
d. Transactions where the business does not pass on the information we need to process it properly within the offer period (for example, when their payment systems are down and they cannot process the transaction electronically).
e. Gift card purchases.
6. How many times can I redeem the offer?
Card Members who have saved the offer to their American Express Card can redeem the offer up to 10 times, to receive a maximum $50 credit per Card.
7.How do I know who is a participating Shop Small business?

9.My Card was replaced; do I need to save the Shop Small offer again?
Yes. If you are issued a replacement Card with a new Card number, you will need to save the offer to your new Card.
10.Are Additional Cards eligible?
Yes, Additional Cards are eligible. Each Card Member must save the offer separately to participate in the offer.

1.What is an eligible American Express Card accepting small business?
The below is a guideline for an eligible Shop Small business:
a. Have processed at least one American Express transaction in the last 12 months.
b. Have transacted less than $235K NZD in American Express Card transactions at the individual business in a rolling 12 month period.
c. Are not operating in industries that are deemed not eligible for Shop Small.
d. Not a large B2B corporate or Global Brand.
2. Is there any cost to small businesses for taking part in Shop Small?
The Shop Small campaign is fully funded by American Express and resources are provided to participating small businesses at no additional cost.
3.My business does not currently accept American Express Cards. Where can I learn more about accepting American Express?
