Moving to Singapore

You can easily retain your existing Card Membership status in Singapore by applying for a new Card online or through our hotline. Whatever option you choose, be sure to provide your existing account number when you apply, in addition to the other information listed on the right.
Link to apply for your new Card online:
1. Select your preferred Card from our All Cards page.
2. Click to apply online.
3. Complete the application form with your Singapore home address, Singapore home phone number,
    overseas home address, foreign identification number and your existing American Express account number.

4. We’ll contact you for ID documentation and any additional information.
5. Once approved we will send you your new Card (usually within 2 weeks of receiving your necessary
    documents).
6. Please call the number on your old Card to transfer Membership Rewards points, or if you wish to cancel
    your old Card.

Apply for your new Card by phone:
1. Call the Global Card Transfer team at the appropriate contact numbers available 24 hours a day, 7 days a
    week.
2. Speak to a Card Relations Consultant and receive your application form by email, fax or post.
3. Complete the application form with your Singapore home address, Singapore home phone number,
    overseas home address, foreign identification number and your existing American Express account number.

4. Return the completed application form with copies of your Singaporean employment pass and income
    documents to the Card Relations Consultant you spoke to.
5. Once approved we will send you your new Card (usually within 2 weeks of receiving your application and
    necessary documents).
6. Please call the number on your old Card to transfer Membership Rewards points or if you wish to
    cancel your old Card.

Please note

  • Process takes 3-4 weeks.
  • You may only apply for one Card in Singapore until you have built up a local credit history.
  • If you have a Singapore credit file, it will be taken into account when processing your application.
  • Documents will be requested for ID purposes, address and income verification.
  • Membership Rewards® points can be transferred to your new Card if it is enrolled in the Membership Rewards
  • If you wish to keep your existing Card, you will continue to be billed any annual fees you are currently paying.
  • The balance, if any, from your existing Card cannot be transferred over to the new Card, if approved.
  • To be eligible for a new Card in Singapore, your Consumer Card (including Small Business Cards, where applicable) must be issued by American Express International Inc. You must be the Basic Card Member, and have held the Card for at least 3 months. Your Card Account must be open and in good standing at the time of application. Or if the Card was previously cancelled by you, it must have been cancelled within the last 3 months. Corporate Card Members and Global Network Card Members (whose Cards were issued by Banks other than an American Express Bank) are not eligible through this Card application process.
