Purchase protection

Almost anything you buy on your Card, anywhere in the world, is automatically insured against accidental damage or theft for 90 days from the date of purchase.

Return guarantee

If you are not satisfied with almost anything you purchased with your Card in Singapore, return it within 90 days and we will gladly give you a refund on it – even if the store doesn’t.

Online fraud protection guarantee

Use your card to shop online with confidence. When you shop with American Express, you will not be held responsible for unauthorised charges online.

Limited liability on lost/stolen Cards

No need to panic if you lose your Card. As soon as you notify us of the loss, you will not be liable for any unauthorised charges made thereafter. Even before notification, your liability is limited to a maximum of S$100 provided that you have acted in good faith and with reasonable care in safeguarding your Card.

Travel Accident insurance* for you and your family

You are automatically covered for up to S$350,000 of Travel Accident Insurance whenever you use your American Express Gold Card to purchase travel tickets for yourself, your spouse and dependent children (under 23 years of age).

You will also enjoy valuable protection against travel inconveniences worldwide, including:
  • Missed connections and delayed luggage

    You will be reimbursed up to S$200 (S$400 if travelling with spouse and children) worth of accommodation and meals charged to your Card.

  • Lost luggage

    You will be reimbursed up to S$500 (S$1,000 if travelling with spouse and children) worth of emergency items charged to your Card.
