What do I do if I have forgotten my Password or I want to change it?

 
American Express provides you with the opportunity to change your Password online. Click on the “Forgotten Your Password?” link on the Log In page and follow the directions. To complete the process, you must remember your User ID and Security Validation Question and Answer. If you do not remember this information please call Customer Services on 0800 032 7728 or +44(0)1273 576111.

What do I do if I’m having difficulty creating a User ID and Password?

 
Make sure you carefully follow the guidelines:
  1. User ID and Password cannot be the same.
  2. User IDs must be 5 to 20 characters in length, contain at least one letter, not contain spaces, not contain special characters such as (&>*!%). Examples of a valid User ID are: roberts, wilson2, and Mark1976.
  3. Passwords must be 6 to 8 characters in length, contain at least one letter and one number, not contain spaces, not contain special characters such as (&>* ! %). Examples of valid password are: snowman4, 810main, and year2k

What do I do if I have forgotten my User ID, Security Validation Question, and/ or Security Validation Answer?

 
For Security purposes, American Express does not allow you to change your User ID or Security Questions and Answers online. Please call Customer Services on 0800 032 7728 or +44(0)1273 576111.

Why would I want to create a separate User ID and Password?

 
If you would like to create a separate User Id and Password (to manage your business Card account separately to your personal Card account), please click on "I would like to set up a separate User Id and password".

What do I do if the User ID I selected is already taken?

 
If the User ID you would like to use is already taken, create a different one by adding numbers to your User ID (e.g. Mark37). For ease, try using a memorable number, like your birthday or year, e.g., Joe1976.

What do I do if the server is not responding?

 
If you are experience delays or the site is unresponsive to your request, you can try again by hitting the Back, Refresh or Reload buttons on your web browser come back later. If problem persists, call 0800 032 7728 or +44(0)1273 576111.

What do I do if online access to my account is temporarily suspended?

 
For your protection, online access to your account will be temporarily suspended if you entered the wrong User ID and/or Password multiple times, you entered the wrong Security Validation Question or the wrong Security Validation Answer multiple times. Please call 0800 032 7728 or +44(0)1273 576111 to re-activate your online account.

Is my confidential information secure?

 
Yes. American Express requires that a "secure session" be established before requesting or providing confidential information. This secure session is created using Secure Socket Layer (SSL). During the secure SSL session, a private conversation using public key cryptography is created that only your computer and American Express systems can understand.
