How to add your Card to Amex Pay

Open the app & select ‘Account’.

Select 'Activate Amex Pay'. For security purposes you'll need to enter a one-time verification code to confirm your identity.

Then select to set Amex Pay as your default payment app. Then that's it. You're done.

Frequently Asked Questions
Once your Card is activated for Amex Pay, all you have to do is simply unlock your device, tap your device at a merchant's contactless reader, and look for the checkmark on your screen. There is no need to open up your Amex App to pay.
With Amex Pay, you can make simple and secure mobile payments for amounts of up to and above £45* contactless limits, without entering your PIN on the terminal. However, some merchants may apply their own limits.

An eligible Card is an active UK American Express issued Personal or Small Business Credit or Charge Card, an American Express Corporate Card, or the Sterling International Currency Card. Your current Card does not need to be contactless in order to use Amex Pay. American Express Prepaid Cards, Virtual Accounts, Corporate Purchasing Cards, Meeting Cards, and Dollar/Euro International Currency Cards are not eligible for Amex Pay.

- A Device Card number, separate and unique from your physical Card Account number, is used to makepurchases with Amex Pay.
- All of your payment information will be stored securely on your device and your physical Card details are never shown in the app or shared with the merchant when you make payments.

• You must keep your device and screen unlock details safe and secure at all times – just like your actual card and PIN.
• Never share your screen unlock details with someone else or register their fingerprint to your device. If you do allow someone access and they buy something, we'll consider that an authorised transaction.
• Set up a screen lock on your mobile phone to use Amex Pay.
• If you disable the screen lock function on your device, your Card will be removed from Amex Pay.
• It is recommended that you delete your Card from Amex Pay if you change, throw away or give your device to someone else, even temporarily (e.g., to be repaired).

Call us immediately on the number on the back of your Card if your Android device has been lost, stolen or compromised in any way. We can suspend or remove
your card from Amex Pay to prevent unauthorised use.
