We prefer to work together with a syndicate of investors but can lead rounds when appropriate, and we are stage-agnostic following the seed round. Harshul Sanghi
Harshul Sanghi Managing Partner Harshul joined American Express in 2011 to create a Silicon Valley presence and launch the company's venture initiative. He previously ran US venture activities for Motorola Mobility. Before Motorola, Harshul was VP, Business Development at Ucentric Systems, and played an instrumental role in the acquisition of Ucentric by Motorola. Harshul also led Philips Electronics' satellite set top box business in North America where he introduced the concept of DVR to the satellite TV market.

Harshul attended the University of Oregon, where he received a degree in Computer Science; and later acquired his MBA from the International Institute for Management Development (IMD) in Switzerland.

Rohit Bodas
Rohit Bodas Partner Rohit joined American Express in 2011 to help launch the company's corporate venture initiative. Prior to American Express, Rohit was a founding member of Hartford Ventures and made investments in DriverSide Inc and Coulomb Technologies. Prior to Hartford Ventures, Rohit held various positions at Motorola in R&D, business development and at Motorola Ventures. Rohit has developed key mobile video and security technologies and holds three US patents.

Rohit holds a BS in Electrical Engineering, a MS in Computer Science, and an MBA from the Kellogg School of Management.

Daniel Shi
Daniel Shi Senior Associate Daniel joined American Express in 2014 as a member of the company's corporate venture initiative. Previously, Daniel was part of the corporate development team at Tencent, focusing on consumer Internet strategic investments and M&A. Prior to that, he was with Nokia Growth Partners, a mobile focused venture fund backed by Nokia. He began his career doing enterprise sales for software services companies operating in both the US and China.

Daniel holds a BA in Economics and International Relations from Claremont McKenna College and an MBA from Cornell University.

Ryan McCargar Associate Ryan joined American Express in 2014 as a member of the company's corporate venture initiative. Previously, Ryan was an analyst in the technology investment banking group at GCA Savvian, focusing on M&A and private capital transactions. He began his career as an audit associate in KPMG's venture capital and alternative investments group, where he also earned his CPA.

Ryan holds a BBA in Accountancy from the University of Notre Dame.
