Our partnership with Costco has ended. If your American Express Costco Co-Brand Card was transferred to Citibank, please contact Citibank at the appropriate number below with any questions about your consumer or business card account.

Please note: American Express cannot access your account information or assist with servicing requests. If you recently made your payment to American Express, please be advised it will post to your Citibank account as of the day it was received by American Express. It may take a few days for your payment to post with Citibank and therefore your balance may not be up to date.


WHAT THIS MEANS FOR YOU:


  • American Express® Cards are no longer accepted at Costco.

  • American Express Costco Co-Brand Cards no longer work for any purchases.

    • This includes the TrueEarnings Card from Costco and American Express, American Express Costco Platinum Cash Rebate Card, TrueEarnings Business Card from Costco and American Express, American Express Costco Business Card.

What will happen to the Annual Reward Coupon I received in my February 2016 billing statement?

The Annual Reward Coupon that you received in your February 2016 paper billing statement can be redeemed in person at any U.S. Costco, including Puerto Rico, on or prior to its expiration date of August 31, 2016. If you need a replacement coupon, please contact Citibank.

  
What happens to the rewards I received on my American Express Costco Co-Brand Card?

The rewards on your Card have been transferred to your new card account with Citibank and you will receive further details from Citibank about how to redeem your rewards on your new card account. This applies to TrueEarnings Card from Costco and American Express, American Express Costco Platinum Cash Rebate Card, and TrueEarnings Business Card from Costco and American Express.

  
What happens to the Membership Rewards points that I received on my American Express Costco Business Card?

If you do not have another American Express Card linked to your Membership Rewards account:

  • You may redeem your Membership Rewards points for 90 days after June 20, 2016 (September 18, 2016). If you don’t redeem the points by September 18, 2016, they will be forfeited.
  • Call 1-800-297-3276 to redeem Membership Rewards points.

If you have another American Express Card account linked to your Membership Rewards account, the points you received from eligible purchases on your American Express Costco Business Card will remain in your Membership Rewards account and you can continue to use those points.

What happens to my American Express Costco Co-Brand Card account at the end of the partnership?

As of June 20, 2016, your current American Express Costco Co-Brand Card no longer works and your Card will be replaced with a different credit card from Citibank, the new issuer of Costco’s Co-Brand program, which will include a new credit card number. This will not be an American Express product.

In certain circumstances, your card will be replaced with a different credit card from American Express and your card account will not be transferred to the new issuer. Your credit card number will remain the same but the product will offer different features and benefits. If your American Express Costco Co-Brand Card Account is not being transferred, you will receive further communication from us.

  
What happens to my online account access and how can I access statements for my American Express Costco Co-Brand Card?

As of June 20, 2016, you no longer have access to your American Express Costco Co-Brand Card account online at americanexpress.com. All requests for statements should be directed to Citibank.

  
Will my American Express Costco Co-Brand Card work outside of Costco at the end of the partnership?

As of June 20, 2016, your American Express Costco Co-brand Card no longer works for any purchases.

Can I keep using my American Express Costco Co-Brand Card on my mobile wallet (Apple Pay, Samsung Pay, Android Pay) or Jawbone UP4?

As of June 20, 2016, your American Express Costco Co-Brand Card account can no longer be used for payments with your mobile wallet (Apple Pay, Android Pay, or Samsung Pay).

For Jawbone UP4, please note that because it can only be linked to one American Express Card, your UP4 can no longer be used to make payments. However, all other features of your UP4, including fitness tracking, will continue to work as usual.

  
What are the features, benefits, and terms of the new credit card from Citibank?

You will receive communications from Citibank about the features, benefits, and terms of the new Citibank Costco credit card.

  
What will happen to the balance(s) on my American Express Costco Co-Brand Card?

The balance on your American Express Costco Co-Brand Card has been transferred to your new card account with Citibank. Citibank will communicate with you regarding your balance(s). You will not be required to pay your balance in full to American Express as a result of the transfer of your card account to Citibank.

  
Where should I send my payments?

When you receive a statement from American Express, you should direct your payments to American Express by mail, phone or online. Certain American Express payment options have been disabled as of June 19, 2016.

When you receive a statement from the new issuer, Citibank, you must direct your payments to Citibank.

  
How can I dispute a charge made on my American Express Costco Co-Brand Card?

Call the number on the back of your new credit card from Citibank.

  
I use AutoPay and/or scheduled payments. What happens next?

If you automatically pay your American Express bill using AutoPay, or if you schedule payments for the future using our scheduled payments option, any payments scheduled to occur on or after June 20, 2016 have been canceled by American Express.

AutoPay payments and scheduled payments have not been transferred to Citibank.

For any payments due to American Express on or after June 20, 2016, please arrange for another payment option (such as payment by check or using your bank’s online bill payment service).

  
I use recurring billing to pay certain merchants on a regular basis. What happens when my account is transferred to Citibank?

Your new credit card from Citibank will have a new account number. As a result, if you have your American Express Costco Co-Brand Card number on file with any merchants, online shopping carts, or digital wallets, then as of June 20, 2016 you will need to update them with another card product of your choice to arrange for future payments.

  
My Costco membership fee is automatically billed to my American Express Costco Co-Brand Card. What happens after my account is transferred to Citibank?

Automatic billing to your American Express Costco Co-Brand Card is no longer available. For Costco membership renewals on or after June 20, 2016, you will need to use another form of payment. Citibank may provide you additional information.

  
What will happen to my Additional Card Members?

As of June 20, 2016, Additional Card Members can no longer use their American Express Costco Co-Brand Card(s). Citibank, the issuer of your new credit card, will send you further information about new cards for individuals that held additional cards related to your American Express Costco Co-Brand Card(s).

  
What will happen to my other Card Membership benefits?


You will continue to receive the same Card Membership benefits for any transactions you make on your American Express Costco Co-Brand Card through June 19, 2016. See Card Membership Benefits and Insurance section below for more information.

What happens to my CreditSecure membership when the relationship with American Express Costco Co-Brand Card ends?

Your enrollment in CreditSecure was terminated with your Card Membership unless you contacted us to transfer your CreditSecure billing to another American Express Card prior to June 20, 2016. If you did not take action and wish to maintain your enrollment please call us at 1-866-617-1893 and we will be happy to reinstate your account if you have another American Express Card.

  
Will I be provided a refund when my CreditSecure enrollment ends?

You were provided an applicable prorated refund if you had an annual enrollment that was cancelled when your American Express Costco Co-Brand Card ceased to be active. If you were billed monthly, you were not billed 30 days prior to cancellation, although you received complete access to your enrollment during this time.

  
Can I pay for CreditSecure with the new credit card from Citibank?

No. CreditSecure can only be paid for with an American Express Card. If you have another American Express Card and would like to continue enrollment in CreditSecure, call us at 1-866-617-1893 and we will be happy to transfer CreditSecure billing to that Card or answer any questions.

  
What happens to my Lost Wallet Protector membership when the relationship with American Express Costco Co-Brand Card ends?

Your enrollment in Lost Wallet Protector was terminated with your Card Membership unless you contacted us to transfer your Lost Wallet Protector billing to another American Express Card prior to June 20, 2016. If you did not take action and wish to maintain your enrollment please call us at 1-866-617-1893 and we will be happy to reinstate your account if you have another American Express Card.

  
Will I be provided a refund when my Lost Wallet Protector enrollment ends?

Yes. You were provided a refund for unearned fees pursuant to our standard refund policy (100% refund within the first 60 days of renewal and for unearned fees thereafter).

  
Can I pay for Lost Wallet Protector with the new credit card from Citibank?

No. Lost Wallet Protector can only be paid for with an American Express Card. If you have another American Express Card, and would like to continue enrollment, call us at 1-855-597-2639 and we will be happy to transfer Lost Wallet Protector billing to that Card or answer any questions.

  
What happens to my Purchase Protection, Extended Warranty, Car Rental Loss and Damage Insurance, Travel Accident Insurance, Return Protection, and Baggage Insurance Plan?

Coverage will be provided only for eligible purchases made on your American Express Costco Co-Brand Card prior to June 20, 2016. Coverage for these benefits is subject to the terms and conditions in the Description of Coverage, found at americanexpress.com/benefitsguide.

  
What happens to my Roadside Assistance Hotline and Global Assist Hotline?

These Card benefits are no longer available through your American Express Costco Co-Brand Card as of June 20, 2016.

  
What happens to my Accident Guard, Accident Protection Plan, and Travel Medical Protection?

Coverage for these benefits will continue to be subject to the terms and conditions in the Description of Coverage and will continue for the period of time for which you have paid a premium (your subscription period). At the conclusion of your subscription period, coverage under this benefit will end.

  
What happens to my Automatic Flight Insurance, Baggage Delay and Loss Protection, Executive Baggage Protection, Premium Baggage Protection, Premium Car Rental Protection (PCRP), Travel Assure/Travel Assure Classic, and Travel Delay Protection?

Coverage for these benefits will be provided only for Covered Trips (Covered rentals for PCRP) purchased with your American Express Costco Co-Brand prior to June 20, 2016. Coverage for these benefits is subject to the terms and conditions in the Description of Coverage, found at americanexpress.com/benefitsguide.

If the American Express Costco Co-Brand Card was your only American Express Card, your enrollment in the product(s) terminated on June 20, 2016. If you have other American Express Cards enrolled in the product(s), your enrollment will continue on those American Express Cards.

  
Can I pay for Premium Car Rental Protection with the new credit card from Citibank?

No. Premium Car Rental Protection is only available to American Express Card Members. To continue your enrollment, please call 1-800-326-2078 and enroll another American Express Card.

  
Will I still have Premium Car Rental Protection coverage when the relationship with American Express Costco Co-Brand Card ends?

Coverage for Premium Car Rental Protection was extended to all eligible car rental purchases made with your American Express Costco Co-Brand Card prior to June 20, 2016. If you have questions, or would like to submit a claim please call 1-800-326-2078.

  
Can I pay for Automatic Flight Insurance, Baggage Delay and Loss Protection, Executive Baggage Protection, Premium Baggage Protection, Travel Assure/Travel Assure Classic, and Travel Delay Protection with the new credit card from Citibank?

No. These products are only available to American Express Card Members. We are not accepting enrollments at this time. We apologize for the inconvenience.

Will I still be able to redeem any merchant offers that I have added to my Card or enrolled in with my American Express Costco Co-Brand Cards?

No. You will no longer be able to redeem any such offers because American Express Co-Brand Cards are no longer active and these offers can only be redeemed with an enrolled American Express Card.

  
Will I still be able to enroll my American Express Costco Co-Brand Card in additional merchant offers?


You will no longer be able to enroll your American Express Costco Co-Brand Card in any additional merchant offers. If you have another American Express Card, you can log into your American Express online account or go to amexoffers.com to see how you can access Amex Offers that may be available for your other Card.

TrueEarnings Business Card

If I have an Authorized Account Manager for my TrueEarnings Business Card, will my Authorized Account Manager(s) have access to the account for my TrueEarnings Business Card?

If I am enrolled in Connect to QuickBooks, will I continue to be able to use it?

Connect to QuickBooks is not available through your new card from Citibank. If you were enrolled in Connect to QuickBooks, the transactions for your TrueEarnings Business Card continued to be automatically sent to your QuickBooks daily through June 19, 2016.

  
Will I receive OPEN Savings® benefits for purchases I make?


The OPEN Savings benefit is not available through your new card from Citibank. You were eligible to get the OPEN Savings benefit for every eligible dollar spent with OPEN Savings partners on your TrueEarnings Business Card through June 19, 2016.

In order to receive the OPEN Savings benefit for eligible purchases at FedEx®, your shipment must have been delivered before June 20, 2016. In order to receive the OPEN Savings benefit for eligible purchases at Hertz®, your car rental must have been returned before June 20, 2016. See full terms and conditions at opensavings.com.

Will I receive OPEN Savings benefits for purchases I make?


The OPEN Savings benefit is not available through your new card from Citibank. You were eligible to get the OPEN Savings benefit for every eligible dollar spent with OPEN Savings partners on your American Express Costco Business Card through June 19, 2016.

If your American Express Costco Business Card was enrolled in the Membership Rewards program and you received your OPEN Savings benefit in the form of additional Membership Rewards points, you continued to receive your OPEN Savings benefit as 2 additional points through June 15, 2016. Thereafter, up to June 20, 2016, you received the benefit as a 5% discount.

In order to receive the OPEN Savings benefit for eligible purchases at FedEx®, your shipment must have been delivered before June 20, 2016.
