If I let American Express know about a future payment, does it change the status of my account?

Unfortunately, a promise or notification of a future payment will not change your due date, condition or status of your account. You are still responsible for making payments to your account per your Cardmember Agreement. However, we'll place a note in your records.

When you're ready, you can make a payment online anytime. Once you pay online, the payment will post to your account within 24-36 hours.
