Once you have been invited to a company’s American Express Go program, download the app to get started. You can then access your virtual Card, which can be used for on-the-go business purchases wherever American Express® is accepted.

Frequently Asked Questions
What is a virtual Card?
A virtual Card has a 15-digit number, expiration date, security code, and associated billing zip – just like a regular credit Card. Virtual Cards offer improved control, with the ability for the Corporate account holder to define the amount and time frame.
Is there a physical Card?
Yes. There is an option to send a physical Card for making purchases in person.
Is this a prepaid or debit Card?
Virtual Cards issued through American Express Go have a declining balance that is pre-authorized for a defined amount and time frame. The corporate credit account will only be billed for the total amount settled on the American Express virtual Card in the month the purchase was made.
Is the virtual Card reusable?
Yes. There is an option to reuse the virtual Card at a later date.
Where and when can the virtual Card be used?
The virtual Card can be used anywhere American Express is accepted – up to the amount authorized. It must be used within the authorized dates, as any transactions outside this time frame – or transactions exceeding the remaining balance – will be declined.
Can it be used outside the U.S.?
American Express virtual Cards can be used wherever American Express is accepted. Foreign transaction fees apply.
What are the fees for American Express Go?
There is a one-time fee of $2 per user profile created for virtual-only purchases.
There is a one-time fee of $5 per user profile created for virtual and in-person purchases. A physical Card will be provided to the user at no cost. For rush servicing, there is an additional fee of $10.
