When an American Express Card Member charges a covered purchase with their Card account, Purchase Protection♦ can help protect your purchases for up to 90 days from the date of purchase if it is stolen or accidentally damaged. Car Rental Loss and Damage Insurance♦
Car Rental Loss and Damage Insurance♦ can provide coverage for theft of or damage to most rental vehicles when you use your eligible Card to reserve and pay for the entire eligible auto rental and decline the collision damage waiver (CDW) or similar option offered by the Commercial Car Rental Company. Please read important exclusions and restrictions. This product provides secondary coverage and does not include liability coverage. Not all vehicle types or rentals are covered. Coverage is available only within the United States, its territories, and possessions.
Baggage Insurance Plan♦
Baggage Insurance Plan♦ coverage can be in effect for Eligible Persons during their travel on a Common Carrier (e.g. plane, train, ship, helicopter, or bus) when the entire fare for a ticket for the trip (one-way or round-trip) is charged to an eligible Card Account. Coverage can be provided for up to $1,250 for carry-on baggage and up to $500 for checked baggage, in excess of coverage provided by the Common Carrier (e.g. plane, train, ship, helicopter, or bus). For New York State residents, there is a $10,000 aggregate maximum limit for all Covered Persons per Covered Trip. Please read important exclusions and restrictions.
Global Assist® Hotline‡
Sometimes the unexpected happens when you travel. A passport is lost. You come down with a sudden illness. A lawyer is needed. Being a Card Member can make things easier. From pre-trip planning to finding an English-speaking doctor, Global Assist® Hotline is ready to help with coordination and assistance services when you travel more than 100 miles from home. Card Members are responsible for the costs charged by third-party service providers.
Roadside Assistance Hotline‡
Your car breaks down or blows a tire and you’re stranded. Now what? Luckily you’re a Card Member. Call the number on the back of your Card for Roadside Assistance Hotline. Coordination and assistance with obtaining emergency services like towing, changing a flat, or boosting a battery are a phone call away and you can use your Card to pay. And soon you’ll be on your way. Third-party service costs are your responsibility. There are some vehicle exclusions and other important restrictions.
Travel Accident Insurance♦
Worry less about the unthinkable happening to you on your Covered Trip. If an accident causes your Death, membership can provide added financial security to your beneficiaries. Travel Accident Insurance♦ can cover travel by plane, train, ship, bus, or helicopter when you purchase the entire fare** on your eligible Card. Please read important exclusions and restrictions.
