Personal branding is all about developing your personality online. So customize, customize, customize. You want who you are to shine through the darkness of the masses around you. Personal branding guru William Arruda advises Internet users to curate content and offer their opinions on the work of others, as well as creating their own content. His other advice? Go mobile, design a kickass website, personalize your YouTube channel, freshen your LinkedIn and social media pages to reflect your brand, colors and most of all, get your personality out there. Use photos, infographics, and visual images to make your points.
Probably the only time when something is openly, seriously, truly and gloriously all about you is when you’re creating your personal brand. After all, isn’t that what your followers really want—your insight, guidance and opinions? Curation rocks! Why say it all yourself when others can often say it so much better, and you can just have an opinion about the whole thing? You absolutely need to write original content, and at the same time you can be a source for related content that others create. Personal branding is about expressing your point of view, insights and humor as well as your expertise. Have fun. Be yourself and let the “you” your followers love shine through!
