Where are businesses putting their 2013 marketing dollars? Customer engagement via email and social media are top priorities for the companies polled in a recent StrongMail survey that asked about 2013 marketing budgets, priorities and challenges.
Businesses are investing in marketing this year, with 89 percent planning to either increase their marketing budgets or maintain the same spending levels. The key priorities are email, social media and mobile marketing, with 55.5 percent of companies planning to increase spending on email marketing, 51.8 percent saying they’ll spend more on social media and 43 percent planning to boost their mobile marketing budgets. The key goal is integration: Marketers are looking to both email and mobile marketing to drive customers to their social media platforms for greater engagement.
