Social media is about more than just getting immediate results and attention from your followers. And it’s about more than solving problems and providing instant answers. It’s about growing your online presence. No SEO strategy can guarantee you’ll get noticed, but these three strategies will help.

  1. Combining what you’re already doing with other proven social media tips, like adding alt tags for social media icons.
  2. Add social media accounts, links and tags everywhere
  3. Make sure you’re listed on Google+ listings and Google Authorship.

Those three things alone can kick up your Web presence fast. Oh, and make sure your social media strategy includes stuff like keeping all your profiles updated and current, and your content relevant.

The old saying, “A picture is worth a 1,000 words” has never been truer than today, especially if you want more than 15 minutes of fame. Don’t ignore the power of images when it comes to search. Use alt tags, and when people find your image, they find you. And be sure to get on Google+ and link it to your businesses website. There's no doubt in my mind it helps you get noticed in searches.

Bonus tip: Research shows retweets and shares get your content indexed faster. And the more links you have to your own content, the more you’re going to get noticed.
