Your American Express® AeroplanPlus®* Corporate Platinum Card is changing to the NEW American Express Aeroplan Corporate Reserve Card with enhanced benefits.
What are the changes to the earn rate?
Your Card earn rate will remain the same as it is now:
1x the points for every $1 spent on your Card.1
When will I receive my new American Express Aeroplan Card?
You will receive your new Card before your current Card expires, effective December 1, 2020. You can continue to use your current Card until you receive a new one. Your new American Express Aeroplan Corporate Reserve Card is also made from precision cut and engraved 13 g metal – it’s the perfect companion on your next exceptional journey.
As of November 8, 2020 you will have access to the following Air Canada travel benefits:
You and up to eight companions travelling on the same reservation will enjoy your first checked bag free (up to 23kg/50lb) when your travel originates on an Air Canada flight.2
As a Cardmember, you will earn 1,000 Status Qualifying Miles and 1 Status Qualifying Segment for every $5,000 in eligible net purchases charged to your American Express Aeroplan Corporate Reserve Card.3
As a Cardmember, you can often book flight rewards for even fewer points.4
Get access to Priority Airport Check-in, Priority Boarding, and Priority Baggage Handling for you and up to 8 companions.5
Receive priority on the standby list if you and up to eight companions travelling on the same reservation are on standby at the airport for an Air Canada flight. Should a seat become available, you will be assigned it before members who have the same status but don’t hold an American Express Aeroplan Corporate Reserve Card.6
If you’re a Cardmember with Aeroplan EliteTM Status, you and up to eight companions travelling on the same reservation get higher priority when you‘re on standby for an upgrade on Air Canada flights. Should a seat become available, you will be assigned to it before Aeroplan members who have the same status but don’t hold an American Express Aeroplan Corporate Reserve Card.6
Receive one Annual Worldwide Companion Pass when you spend $25,000 in net purchases prior to your Card anniversary date; your Pass entitles you to buy an accompanying Air Canada economy class ticket for a companion at a fixed base fare from $99 to a maximum of $599 CAD (plus taxes, fees, charges, and surcharges).7
Cardmembers who hold Aeroplan Elite Status can roll over up to 200,000 Status Qualifying Miles (SQMs) beyond the status level for which they’ve qualified, from the prior qualification year to qualify for status the next year.8

What to expect during the transition:
The 15-digit number on the front of your Card will remain the same.
Effective on your Cardmembership anniversary date after November 6, 2021, your annual fee for the NEW American Express Aeroplan Corporate Reserve Card will be $699. For this year we want you to experience all that your new Card has to offer by not increasing your annual fee at this time. This means for the first year, you will enjoy the NEW American Express Aeroplan Corporate Reserve Card for $350.
Yes! You can continue to use your same Card to access the new benefits until you receive your new Card at your next renewal.
Since your Card number will remain the same, your recurring bills will continue to be charged to your Card.
Please see www.aircanada.com/aeroplan for more information on the improvements coming to the Aeroplan Program.
Your miles will be valued at 1:1 in the new Aeroplan Program. Your current miles balance will remain in your account. After November 8, 2020 Aeroplan Miles will be referred to as Aeroplan points.
