The Porter House Hotel Sydney, MGallery
The building’s exterior mural was designed by the artist Maria Fernanda Cardoso and features arches, circles, and colors that complement the heritage of the original building.
Housed in a former tobacco factory and warehouse, as well as a leather shop, the hotel’s design combines the old with the new. Rooms have a soft, muted color palette with features that reference the hotel’s heritage, such as leather detailing and a mix of modern and vintage lamps. Bathrooms are done in shades of gray and cream.
Head to Henry’s Bread + Wine for breakfast or lunch, or to purchase flowers from the in-house florist. Dixson & Sons is a modern brasserie highlighting the produce of New South Wales. Enjoy an after dinner drink at Spice Trader, which specializes in artisanal cocktails.
Kickstart your day with a workout at the hotel gym, or enjoy a leisurely swim in the heated outdoor pool.
Take a stroll through the spacious Hyde Park, located just steps away. Explore the Australia Museum, go shopping at the Queen Victoria Building, or head to the nearby Art Gallery of New South Wales.
