• Your Employer Identification Number (EIN) or Taxpayer Identification Number (TIN)
• Your Articles of Organization or a Certificate of Formation
• Information from a Driver’s License, State I.D., or Passport for each owner
• A Social Security Number (SSN) and ID verification for any Beneficial Owner with ownership of 25% or more
• A “Doing Business As” (DBA) certificate only if your business operates under more than one name
• A U.S. business address
• Information about your industry, size, and the purpose of your account

No, you can quickly apply for a Business Checking account, a Business Savings account, or both in one easy application online. You can select which product(s) you’d like to apply for on the first page of the application after you log in. If you already have one of the products, your application will be updated to a few questions that will need to be answered to apply for the other product.

There are no initial minimum deposit requirements for Business Checking or Business Savings. Once your account(s) are created, you’ll need to fund within 120 days to keep account(s) open.

Yes, the APY on your Business Checking and Business Savings account is a variable rate. You can find the current APY on your account in the Rates & Fees Table. At our discretion, we may change the interest rate and corresponding APY on the account at any time before or after the account is opened, without prior notice.

With American Express^® Business Checking, you can earn 1 Membership Rewards^® point for every $2 of eligible Business Debit Card purchases. Plus, there's no limit on how many points you can earn, and points can be converted into deposits made directly into your Business Checking account.

If you already have a Membership Rewards-enrolled Card linked to the same Rewards Account, all points earned from your linked Card(s) and your Business Debit Card will be consolidated into a single point balance in your Rewards Account, which can be redeemed for deposits or for any other eligible redemption options available on your linked Card(s). If your Business Checking account is not linked to the same Rewards Account, as a Membership Rewards-enrolled Card, points earned from your Business Checking account and Business Debit Card can be converted into deposits or transferred to participating partner loyalty programs.
