American Express Travel® is offering Select Homes + Retreats™, a curated collection of short-term rental properties provided by vacation rental management companies (Hosts) in certain U.S. destinations available to eligible U.S. Consumer and Business Platinum Card® Members and Centurion® Members through AmexTravel.com. Terms apply.
Hosts are vacation rental management companies, not individuals, that provide properties for short-term rental. Participating vacation rental management companies and their participating properties are subject to change at any time without notice to eligible Card Members.
No, these properties are not owned or managed by American Express. The properties are provided and managed by vacation rental management companies (Hosts), which are not owned, operated, or affiliated with American Express. American Express is not liable for the acts or omissions of vacation rental management companies, their properties (including homeowners), or third parties acting for or on their behalf.
Whether you’re working remotely, reconnecting with family and friends, or doing a bit of both, American Express Select Homes + Retreats properties can feel like your home away from home.
Select Homes + Retreats is designed to give you options with a curated collection of short-term rental properties provided by vacation rental management companies (Hosts) in select U.S. destinations. Eligible Consumer and Business Platinum Card Members can choose to book Select Homes + Retreats using Pay with Points or can earn 5X Membership Rewards® points when booking through AmexTravel.com using an eligible Platinum Card®. Reservations
You can search for properties through AmexTravel.com. Search for an available destination by entering the city or location name and dates that you’re looking to travel. We’re continuing to add destinations and properties across the U.S., so check back on AmexTravel.com in the months to come.
You can book through AmexTravel.com. Once you find the destination that you want to visit, you can select the property where you want to stay from the search results and checkout.
Your reservation cannot be modified; however, the reservation can be cancelled, and a new reservation can be made at AmexTravel.com. Cancelled and/or new reservations will be subject to availability, any cancellation policies and fees, any increase in the nightly rates and other fees, and any other applicable policies or fees of the vacation rental management company (Host). You can cancel your reservation by logging in to “My Trips” at AmexTravel.com, then make a new reservation.
Please keep in mind that after cancellation, the property previously booked may not be available for booking again for up to 24 hours or more.
To cancel, log in to “My Trips” on AmexTravel.com. To proceed with the cancellation, ensure you check the tick box.
You can cancel without penalty within 48 hours of booking if the booking is made at least 10 calendar days before check-in. For information on the property’s cancellation policy, any cancellation fees and more, please review your Reservation Request Received email from American Express Travel or the property’s listing on AmexTravel.com.

No, Select Homes + Retreats properties cannot be booked by phone and can only be booked through AmexTravel.com by eligible U.S. Consumer and Business Platinum Card Members and Centurion® Members.
Acceptable methods of payment include Membership Rewards® points, your eligible American Express Card, or a combination of the two. You will only earn Membership Rewards® points for a purchase if you pay with your eligible Membership Rewards-enrolled Card. Terms Apply.
You can look up your reservation when you’re logged in to your eligible U.S. Consumer or Business Platinum Card® or Centurion® Card Account on AmexTravel.com. The reservation will be listed under “My Trips”.
Yes, you can book on a mobile device if you have a smartphone. You can open an internet browser app and book your reservation request through AmexTravel.com.
Please refer to your Reservation Request Received email from American Express Travel, as well as any additional communications from the vacation rental management company (Host). You can also access this information via “My Trips” on AmexTravel.com.
To ask a question before making a reservation, please use the “Contact Host” link on the property listing within AmexTravel.com.
When you enter your eligible American Express Card information at checkout, the full cost of the stay will be charged to your Card to reserve the property. The entire charge for the booking will be posted to your Card account in approximately 48 hours or more.
If a security deposit is required for your reservation, it will be charged and refunded in accordance with the property listing’s terms and any rental agreement that your vacation rental management company (Host) may require that you sign (as applicable).
You may incur additional charges for services requested by you or your guests during your stay, such as concierge services, additional person charges, or pool heating costs, as applicable. Fees will be charged to you separately by the vacation rental management company (Host). Please check the property listing or contact the Host for more information.
Estimated government-imposed taxes and fees are included in the total price reflected at AmexTravel.com. The amounts displayed include an estimated amount that vacation rental management companies (Hosts) bill for applicable government-imposed taxes and fees. In the event you require an itemized receipt of the estimated government-imposed taxes and fees charged to you for your purchase, please contact the Host for an itemized receipt.
There will be a map on AmexTravel.com with a radius showing the general location of the property. Before your stay, you’ll receive the property's address in your Reservation Request Received email and it can also be viewed within “My Trips” on AmexTravel.com.
You can use Membership Rewards® Pay with Points to book a Select Homes + Retreats reservation through AmexTravel.com during the payment section of the checkout process. See applicable Terms and Conditions at the bottom of the Select Homes + Retreats webpage for more information. Terms Apply.
If you booked with Membership Rewards® points, you’ll receive a statement credit to your account equal to the dollar value of the points used. If you would like the points returned to your account, please contact Membership Rewards at 1-800-AXP-EARN (297-3276).

Policies
You can cancel your reservation in “My Trips” on AmexTravel.com. American Express Travel offers free cancellation 48 hours after booking if the booking is made at least 10 calendar days before check-in. Any cancellations made outside of the 48-hour post-booking free cancellation period will be subject to the vacation rental management company’s (Host’s) cancellation policy, which is reflected in the property listing and your Reservation Request Received email from American Express Travel.
Cancellations made outside of the 48-hour post-booking free cancellation period will be subject to any cancellation policies and fees and any other applicable policies or fees of the Host.
The minimum and maximum nights available to stay will vary by property. Unless otherwise specified in the property listing, the minimum length of stay is two consecutive nights, and the maximum length of stay is 28 consecutive nights.
Please refer to the property listing (of the property you’re considering on AmexTravel.com) for pet information and any applicable fees.
Some vacation rental management companies (Hosts) require that guests sign a rental agreement. Please work with your Host on any documentation required for your reservation. If such steps are not completed promptly, your Host may cancel the booking, subject to their policies.
Some vacation rental management companies (Hosts) require that guests complete identity verification to ensure you meet the Host’s rental requirements such as minimum age. Some vacation rental management companies (Hosts) may require a liability waiver depending on the amenities and location of the property. Security deposits are required in the event of damage to the property during a guest’s stay at that property. A security deposit is refundable in accordance with the vacation rental management company’s (Host’s) policies, which are reflected in the property listing. If your security deposit is not refunded in accordance with the Host’s policies, please work with the Host to refund the security deposit.
At the time of booking, you will have to pay the Total Trip Cost (reflected on AmexTravel.com), but you can earn 5X Membership Rewards® Points if you pay with your eligible Platinum Card. Or you can use Pay with Points for all or part of your booking. Terms Apply.
At this time, we do not offer specific trip insurance for Select Homes + Retreats bookings.
Other
You cannot book a car or flight on the same reservation as your short-term rental. However, you can visit AmexTravel.com for additional options to book these types of reservations.

Please note that American Express will not be providing customer servicing for requests while you are at the property; please direct all such requests to your Host.
The vacation rental management company (Host) is responsible for cleaning the property between each stay. Please contact your Host for more information.

After making a reservation, please first refer to your Host’s contact information listed in your Reservation Request Received email from American Express Travel.
