How to pay your American Express Card bill

You can pay for your American Express® Card bill by any of the convenient methods mentioned below

Please note: 

 

  1. Payments to the Card account can only be made from a bank account in the primary Card Member’s name. 
  2. Payments made to an India-issued American Express Card held by a non-resident of India must be made through an NRE/NRO account in the primary Card Member’s name.
  3. American Express is not obligated to process, nor provides any guarantees/warranties for any payment made by a Card Member through a payment aggregator that does not appear on the American Express website or App. 

 

Online Funds Transfer

 

Option 1: NEFT   

 

Settle your American Express Card bill payments online the very next day from any bank through National Electronic Funds Transfer (NEFT). Make sure to fill in the following details while registering your Card as a Payee.

 

Payee Name: American Express
Payee Account No:       37XXXXXXXXXXXXX (Please ensure that you put your complete 15 digit Card number beginning with 37)
Bank Name: Standard Chartered Bank    
Payee Account Type: Current
IFSC Code: SCBL0036020
Branch Address: Standard Chartered Bank, Narain Manzil. 23 Barakhamba Road, New Delhi 110001

 

In case you are making a payment via Standard Chartered Online Banking, the IFSC code is not required.

You may simply select the option 'Transfer to another SCB bank account' to process the payment.

 

Option 2: UPI    

 

Now you can also conveniently pay through UPI (Unified Payments Interface). Simply log in through any UPI enabled mobile banking app / BHIM and pay.

 

American Express UPI VPA is AEBC37XXXXXXXXXXXXX@SC (Please ensure that you put your complete 15 digit Card number beginning with 37)

 

Simply initiate your funds transfer before 5:00 pm for next day credit to your American Express Card, excluding Sunday and banking holidays. Also make sure to put in the correct Card number to avoid a transaction failure

 

Important Note:

 

  1. Subject to timely processing by your bank.
  2. A reference to weekends includes working days falling on either a Saturday or a Sunday of any given week as notified by the Reserve Bank of India or by any other relevant authority. A weekend, however, does not include any holiday as notified by the Bank or by any relevant authority.

 


 

Online Payment

 

Pay your American Express Card bill online directly from your bank account from any place, anytime. This service is currently available for more than 50+ participating banks in India.

 

We also accept payments through following electronic modes:

(i) Debit Card powered by RuPay

(ii) Unified Payments Interface (UPI) (BHIM -UPI)

(iii) Unified Payments Interface Quick Response Code (UPI QR Code) (BHIM-UPI QR Code)

 

Your payment will be credited to your American Express Card account within 1-2 business days subject to timely processing by your bank. 

 


 

Autopay / NACH

 

Consumer Cards:

Enrol for Autopay and each month we will deduct the total amount due or minimum due (as specified in the enrolment form) from your nominated bank account via the National Payment Corporation Of India's National Automated Clearing House.

 

A. Online Enrolment

You can easily request for Autopay of your monthly Card bills through an online enrollment form.* Your enrolment will be complete in 5 business days.

 

OR

 

B. Paper-based form

Choose the form to enrol for Autopay based on the type of American Express® Card you have: Charge Card - Autopay enrolment form or Credit Card - Autopay enrolment form. Your enrolment will be complete within 3-4 weeks.

 

Cancellation 

To cancel your existing NACH click here.

Cancellation request may take 5-6 business days to be processed.

Payment for the already generated statement will still be auto-debited (unless already paid)

 

Corporate Cardmembers can enroll for Autopay from their Bank account and credit the Card Account with the total amount due in the monthly statement through the National Automated Clearing House (NACH) Debit option introduced by the National Payments Corporation of India(NPCI). Courier    

 

Please make the cheque/draft payable to "AEBC Card No. 37XX XXXXXX XXXXX". You’ll need to send your cheque/draft to American Express Banking Corp. Cyber City, Tower 'C', DLF Building No. 8, Sector 25, DLF City Phase II, Gurgaon-122002, Haryana.

 

It’s important to know that bill payments made via cheque will not be credited to your Card account until we receive confirmation of the funds from the bank.


 

Drop Boxes

 

Find the nearest Drop box location where you can drop your cheque or draft. Please do not drop cash payments in the drop box. 

 

Please make the cheque/draft payable to "AEBC Card No. 37XX XXXXXX XXXXX". It’s important to know that bill payments made via cheque will not be credited to your Card account until we receive confirmation of the funds from the bank.

 

Check AMEX sticker on the SCB boxes before dropping the cheques.
