Protect yourself from identity theft
Identity theft occurs when someone impersonates you using your name and personal details to open new accounts,
takeover existing accounts, or even make fraudulent purchases under your name. This could lead to financial losses,
a negative impact on your credit score, undue stress and more.
Here are some ways to identify and curb identity theft.
Scammers are using advanced technology to deceive and steal information. Stay informed and protected.
AI-Forged Deepfake Videos
What are deepfake scams?
Cybercriminals use AI-generated videos to impersonate trusted or familiar individuals, circulate false narratives, and trick you into giving away confidential details like Card information, personal details or money.
These videos may contain requests that seem personal or urgent but are in fact entirely fabricated.
- Lip movement doesn’t sync or exactly match with the voice
- Strange or stuttering visuals and/or robotic tone
- Backgrounds that seem unnatural or digitally rendered
- Requests that feel rushed or out of the ordinary
- Avoid clicking on unfamiliar links or downloading unverified apps.
- Independently validate any request before taking action.

Caller ID Spoofing
What is Caller ID spoofing?
Fraudsters manipulate caller IDs to display familiar numbers, such as your bank or known contacts, to gain your trust and access sensitive data.
These calls are designed to pressure you into acting immediately by sharing OTPs or verifying Card details urgently.
- The caller ID shows your own number or one you know.
- You are pushed to act without delay.
- The caller avoids verifying their identity when asked.
- Don’t trust the caller ID at face value and confirm who is calling independently.
- Never disclose sensitive information over the phone.
- Disconnect the call and contact your bank using the number on the back of your Card.
