Your safety is important to us and when it comes to making payments, we’ve got your back. We’re reducing physical contact at the point of sale so you will no longer need to enter a PIN on American Express contactless transactions up to $200 (previously $100). This update is currently being rolled-out progressively to businesses. Continue to follow the instructions on terminals when making a payment.
Don’t be tied up, even if your hands are.
Running to the ferry and juggling shopping bags? You’ll no longer be held up by reaching for your wallet – simply tap your phone and you’re good to go. This easy way to pay is now available on trains, NSW ferries and light rail.
Your most secure way to pay, seriously.
You authorise each payment.
Whether it’s a passcode, biometric recognition (face, iris or fingerprint scan) or a secure tap without unlocking your phone, you’re in control.
Your details aren’t saved.
To make sure transactions are safe from fraud, your Card details aren’t saved to your phone. Instead, your device is given a unique token that’s then sent to the seller.
Accepted from the bakery to the barber.
You can pay with your phone anywhere you see the contactless symbol. Whether it’s the florist or the flea market, you’ll be surprised how many places accept mobile payments.
